La Porte has been winning but closer games than I thought they would. Gonna be a tough game this week. Go Indians

Big boy football this week. LaPorte has size on the OL/DL, speed at the skill position spots, and lots of returning players who have played playoff football. LaPorte's RB Sean Simon will test the Indians. LaPorte has a good HC, too. I have confidence in PNG. The Indians defense is much improved over last year. Tackling is better. Need to get as many kids as possible around Sean Simon and wrap up. Hang on to the football and finish drives with points. Add up the points at the end of the game and see if we can escape with a W. I think we can. I'll be there! GO INDIANS!!!

Two headed LP rushing attack with Simon and Ruffin. PNG defense is tough against the run but the Bulldogs are going to be the greatest test to date. The biggest improvement that the Indians offense will benefit from is more consistent blocking and more run production. Take some time off the clock and score. Keep the defense fresh.

This will be an interesting matchup for sure.

Don’t forget, the Indians have been among the very best in the state at winning close games. Personnel changes each year, but the mentality and preparation is baked in by the elite coaching staff.
If the offensive players and coaches can make the same leaps in progress as the Defensive players and coaches did two games into the season then PNG fans can witness something special.
Creating open space for one receiver by clearing out a passing zone prevents an opponent shutdown CB from canceling out PNG lack of blinding speed to gain separation. Baby Offensive steps but can see some evidence of progress in passing game attack.

Matt Stepp of Dave Campbell Texas Football will be at this game of the week in person to do game broadcast videos. Matt has personally anointed La Porte to win the 5AD1 state championship this year. He has a vested interest in the outcome of this game. PNG fans want to hear him say it was a one score game win and we know what that means when playing PNG.

The seating design is not optimal. 1/3 in and around one end zone. Would have been much better viewing angles to place the seats along the sidelines. Appears that it’s a venue also intended for concerts and other non-sports events.

Reminds me of a nascar stadium. Looks like every seat is up close.

The defense needs to be ready to deal with hard running stiff-arming punch-in-the-face RBs this week. I was sitting at about the 10 or so yard line last season, about 5 or 10 rows up, and saw a punch to the head of one of our D linemen on one of their TD runs. That, and if we can stop the KO runbacks, then I think we'll be ok.

It's a cool stadium that they can be proud of. Most games there probably won't exceed the capacity. Most visiting schools will fall far short of selling 4,250 tickets.
Looking forward to a well played game in a new stadium.

Well that's no good. Not a given that La Porte even does 50/50 seating I guess.

I personally think every 5A and higher school should be building 10,000-12,000 seat stadiums.

I like this PNG defense. We’re seeing a lot of carryover from the tough JV defense of last year. Jaxon Winfrey may be the best PNG linebacker in a while. Not huge, but has a nose for the ball, gets there fast and packs a wallop when he arrives. Smart player. Brashers is a similar player at inside linebacker. Defensive line, although smaller than prior years is stout. Defensive backfield also looks to be improved. La Porte is a powerhouse running team. This will be a battle.
