Port Neches-Groves @ La Porte

How did the Freshman do?
Defense was most consistent. Did allow some La Port TD breakout runs and catches.
Our Offense did have TD runs and catches. More sustained drives than La Port.
Officiating had it's issues but not in the final score.
The JV white La Port Offense got more yards in the scrums.
La Port has a very slippery running back and QB. Difficult to sack and tackle.
They had a lot of yards by jet sweeps.

In the upcoming varsity game, some people may not like this, but it’s imperative that the offensive line as a unit, and the running backs step up a level or two. Line needs to do everything better. Backs need to run with some ferocity. Hit the lane hard. Break some tackles. If that happens and receivers haul in the catch opportunities, I really, really like the odds of winning the game.

Will you make it to this one?
