Long is in the top 10-20 Texas HS QB's of all-time in terms of passing yardage.
I don't think so. He passed for what 6000 yards? There have been many that have thrown for over 4000 a year for multiple years in the spread.

But to expect another Long because of Faircloth is probably reaching. D. Long was a rarity. Faircloth may help produce other QB's with great numbers though and maybe someday another superstar QB?

6173.

The career passing yards leaders are:

Career Passing Yards
12,532-Graham Harrell, Ennis, 2000-03
12,183-Drew Tate, Baytown Lee, 1999-2002
11,750-G.J. Kinne, Canton/Gilmer, 2003-06
10,136-Phillip Daugherty, Bridgeport, 2000-02
10,046-Chandler Dane, Decatur, 2002-04
9,344-Colt McCoy, Tuscola Jim Ned, 2002-04

The number 6 position is 9344, so it is not out of the realm of possibility that Long is somewhere in the top 20 at 6173.

The leaders are in a different category. But D.L. was ranked fairly high a few years back. I'll see if I can dig up my Joe Lee Smith stats.

These are 2005 numbers. He dropped in the list considerably since I last checked several years back.

Notice the playing years. The proliferation of passing offenses in the 2000's have really inflated the numbers.

Long is still ahead of some former greats and still the SE Texas leader.

Amazing that Graham Harrell, the all-time leader, and a record setting passer in college was passed up in the NFL draft this year.

So this means that D. Long is the GT all time passing leader.
How many yards does Bellows have the last two years?

Back on track for a minute!
Went to watch yesterdays scrimmage. A couple of notes.

1. Biggest line I have ever seen at PNG! QB has time to make his reads!
2. Doty looks like he is settling in well. Made a few mistakes, but to be expected.
3. Love the intensity!!! It is infectious from top to bottom. Coaches running down field 50 yards to chest bump a kid after a TD! The Drill at midfield before the scrimmage. I love that they will jump a kids butt for poor effort and shower him with praise on the next play when he gets it right.
4. We seem to have some issues catching the deep ball. Both QB's threw a couple of good passes deep and they were dropped.

Who is number 11? The #2 QB. What grade?
Who was #58 at DT? Monster!

Number 11 is Matt Desmond. He will be a Junior next year - same as Doty.
If Doty gets the job in the fall I wonder if Desmond will rotate at WR. He looks like a good athlete. Remember Chase Daniel played WR at Southlake while Wasson was QB.

I also like that it looks like we will not have a bunch of two way guys, maybe none. With the pace that our offense runs it will be good for our Defense to be one way guys so they can rest.

The only thing that surprised me was that I expected more motion, but maybe it will come with development.

Can't stop watching that clip!! That is exciting. The snap was god. The QB held on to it. The back made it through the line unscathed. So many great things in that one clip!

Does anybody know who the freshman runningback is #28? I have been to the varsity practices and this kid is amazing. He is fast and real tough. He is on the video above running with JV too. Faircloth is doing an awesome job!
