Recruiting

Congrats. He’ll get more. You can’t coach certain characteristics into a player. If a player is big and strong he has an advantage. If he can carry that weight well with agility, he’s on another level. If he’s smart and adjusts on the fly, even better. If he has all that and is tough as nails and plays with controlled aggression, that’s as good as it gets. Reeves has shown all of the above.

What will really make even more of a difference is for him to be a great leader and motivate his younger or less experienced teammates to be all they can be. To become a great unit that will pave the way for greatness. Like great PNG offensive lines of the past. Offseason work and watching film is where champions are built. That work is necessary to achieve the dreams that they all have. Wouldn’t it be great if all of us learned that early in life and realized those dreams. Like state championships.

Go where you can start as a sophomore (if not freshman) you get better by playing and being actively coached by the top coaches in a program. Don’t we wish (at least I do) that Roschon had led Lamar to conference championships and Bowl wins then transferred to UT to finish his degree he would be a starting NFL QB right now. (Just my opinion)
I’ve believed this for a very long time and now with the new rules and transfer portal it’s 10x true If you aren’t the star waiting in the wings (example Arch Manning) they’re GOING to replace you via the transfer portal
Or through recruitment
You have to be their big target and best option from the beginning or you’ll get lost in the shuffle.

I even say if Roschon had played 4 years at Lamar he’d be playing QB in the NFL
I think if he had played QB ANYWHERE for a few years he’d be playing QB in the NFL. As it was, he got virtually no chance to show what he could do as a QB (a few snaps in single spring game plus a few very effective runs out of the wildcat). They were so stupid they never even had him throwing any passes out of the RB or wildcat positions. A fantastic weapon they never even tried to use. Bozos.

Indian Fan +1. Dustin Long got screwed at ATM and Texas should have never changed RJ from QB to RB. No one, and I mean no one, threw a better long ball that RJ. He could hit WRs in stride from 50-60 yards downfield like nothing I have ever seen. Great vision, composure, and a live arm for deep throws. Incredible talent that should be throwing TDs in the NFL.

Roschon didn’t even haft to go to Lamar He could have played at A&M,Georgia hell even Bama and started by his junior if not sophomore year, you don’t think Saban would LOVE a guy like him.I know we got some UT fans in here but I will NEVER forgive Sark for what he did,I remember MULTIPLE times watching Roschon drive down them down the field just for them to put Bijan in on the one to give him the easy TD and pad his stats such BS!

I’ve been a Texas fan since birth but not so much anymore. I don’t care for the liberal culture of the school. And too often the players they recruit, while great athletes, tend to be a bust because of character or attitude reasons. Or they are overrated or under coached. Not impressed with Sarkisian either.

Yes. That’s when my interest in Texas really dropped off. Now they just buy players and have no loyalty to players that committed to them.

But if Jackson Christian becomes a starter I’ll watch the games.

I used to BLEED burnt orange as a kid then I went to some A&M games cause I had family attending and never looked back, think of PNG on a MASSIVE scale loyalty, love and hospitality like no other.A school RICH with tradition that some call weird or even offensive but the students and Alumni wouldn’t have it any other way reminds me of another school I know!

Me too
My UT allegiance dropped a few points because of it

So yeah
Ace
Don’t get distracted by the big conglomerate corporations you might see
All that glitters is not gold
If you’re #1 or two on the depth chart at McNeese GO THERE the Alabamas UTs etc (and NFL) of the world will see you PLAY not your numbers all the OL at this level have numbers
Like judging a girl on her measurements lol
EARLY PLAYING TIME is your path to the NFL (if it’s possible) maybe who knows
But the odds drop if you don’t play early. (Just my opinion)
