So true. The Argyle broadcast crew frequently remarked about this, and based on our experiences with them I am sure it was an accurate perception.

I predict Texas High to be a better overall team next year.I agree IndianFan. I hope our returning kids find a mean nasty streak---that is needed to fight, scratch, and claw with SOC, RR, Texas High, and next year's Huntsville team.
Yep! That same attitude and behavior is being passed on to the players which is why a lot of them who do earn possibly their ONLY shot to get a EDUCATION and play at the next level usually don’t succeed…VERY SAD!They’ll deny any and all infractions and throw out the r word. Deny and deflect.
SAME! All the “shadiness”, UNETHICAL behavior, and blatant disregard of rules and Sportsmanship I’ve witnessed the last few years has definitely been eye opening and VERY disappointing! However it’s gonna continue to be a PROBLEM and get WORSE as long as the current ANTIQUATED rules/regulations are in place! At some point coaches, administrators, parents, fans…etc who do things the RIGHT way, follow the rules, and VALUE Sportsmanship, Integrity, and Fairness are gonna have to band together in order to put pressure on the UIL to DO SOMETHING or it’ll NEVER happen!!Never have I so appreciated the importance of fair play in high school sports. Always assuming that was a given for the most part. Perhaps naive to a certain extent. Maybe old school thinking. Of course teams always look for advantages, but keep it within the rules, and keep Texas high school football honorable. And respectful.
Maybe here to stay for districts that allow it. It’s not a state mandate. The rules are simple, if you transfer and you are a high school student u have to sit out of athletics for a year. Open enrollment is here to stay so you cannot prevent kids from moving schools, but if they have to sit out a year it will at least deter from moving their senior year to stack a team like SOC did.
In order to compete consistently at the highest level, we will have to have open enrollment also. That is something I do not want and will never get behind; it has ruined high school football for the most part.
Actually it is up to the other schools within the district to require them to sit a year. SOC is in an all DISD district and DISD is just rubber stamping transfers because SOC has brought them Pride they haven’t seen in years. The rules are simple, if you transfer and you are a high school student u have to sit out of athletics for a year. I definitely understand the pride part, that is a good thing. I also agree with you and a few others on here that if you are gonna "recruit" then you need to be playing at the highest level. Make no mistake, building good programs that were previously struggling helps the kids and the community and I'm all for that. If you are gonna build programs that way, it shouldn't be at the cost of schools that follow the rules and do it the right way.Actually it is up to the other schools within the district to require them to sit a year. Even if we were OE I would suspect at least one school in the district would deny any transfer waiver.
The UIL was so worried about Private schools playing in UIL football playoffs with recruiting that when they finally allowed it they ruled that the advantage would require them to play in the highest classification (6A) no matter their enrollment which was the right thing to do. I say do the same with OE. That would stop it. Notice only a few privates chose to play in UIL. Funny though that the UIL now doesn’t care about the issue.
He also said teams like Gunter don’t make mistakes. What a load of bull. All high school players eventually make mistakes. Gunter has already made several in the game.Ken Purcell - the Cowboy Coach who claims 10 or 12 state championships, yet he never won a state title as a head coach. Two rings as a Plano assistant coach (one against PN-G in 1977) and the rest of his rings were won when he served as an AD at Allen, I think. He's a blow hard for Dallas area teams. I'm sure he will say whatever the narrative needs to be to justify the player transfers in DFW and the surrounding suburbs. I watch the games but I'm not intereted in the pre-game or post-game commentary. Today, I am a Woodville Eagles fan. GoIndiansWoodville Eagles.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever. -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
