Coach Don Bryson, PN-G HC in boys' basketball during the 1970s and 1980s passed away on May 31, 2023. He was an outstanding coach, teacher, and mentor for PN-GISD. Great basketball player for Lamar University in the 1960s. Lamar's first All-American and a member of the Lamar Cardinal Hall of Fame. When people ask where does PN-G find the building blocks for its famous Honor, Pride, and Tradition, those core values are built upon the hard work and dedication of teachers and coaches like Don Bryson, Doug Ethridge, Ken Watson, Oliver Monk, Zach Byrd, Lewis Ford, Gene McCollum, and so many others past and present.
