PNG QB Connor Bailey’s steady leadership accomplishments should not be allowed to fade with time. He may not rank at the top of some of the current individual records but he was just a winner and unselfish team leader.

Nice. Well done. One minor revision. Richy Ethridge was QB1 for PN-G in 1975-1976. W/L 27-2. It will be difficult for anyone to catch Connor Bailey unless PN-G goes on another deep playoff run with a three or four-year QB. Connor Bailey was very steady and cool under pressure. Great presence in the pocket, able to see through all the traffic around him and find open WRs downfield. He can make all the throws. Big time winner!

1955 QB was the late, great Bobby Falgout. My dad used to work with him in the lab at a chemical plant in Beaumont.

Thank you for sharing!!! I love reading about the history of the program in the 1940s and 1950s. I believe the QB for the 1953 Port Neches Indians was Jackie Hathorne (spelling?).

Thanks. Understand from orbit he was the PN QB for the 1953 1954 1955 seasons.

Also understand 1947 PN QB was Scooter O’Neal.

No info yet on 1946 and 1934 PN QBs.
 
Jackie Hathorn was QB in 1952, 1953 and 1954
1947 QB was C S O'Neal . I never heard the name "Scooter" 1946 QB was Hollis Slaughter
 
I had a dream. Conner Bailey standing in the sideline huddle before the team goes out on the field for the first offensive series. Expecting him to offer words of support and encouragement to Ashworth and then step back to the sideline. But instead of the sideline, he snapped his chin strap tight and jogged onto the field. The 5500+ strong Indians crowd erupted with an amazing roar.

It would be tremendous for Conner to play again, but if that’s not possible we know that Jake Ashworth is more than capable with his own style and skillset. He is an amazing QB in his own right. Whoever is at QB will be leading a determined team who will rise to the occasion no matter the challenge.

Wasn't Bailey dressed out with a brace on his knee last week?
 
Same with Kash Barnwell. Suited up with a brace on and a captain the last 2 weeks. Barnwell was playing in the Nacogdoches game with the brace on, but one of their offensive linemen blind sided him, apparently resulting in further damage to his knee.

I saw posts on X from Coach Joseph and Coach Wilson that Connor Bailey posted the following stats in 2025:

District MVP
119-204 for 1,851 passing yards
21 TDs
4 INTs
37-2 career W/L record

An absolute stud for the Indians for the past four years. Still looking for a place to play college ball. Incredible arm talent and lightning quick release. Consistent accuracy. Can make any throw on the field. 37 wins as a high school QB. State champion. Watch the film.
