One very encouraging difference stands out.
WO-S, scrimmage or not, is a speedy team. Yet the Indian defenders were reacting quickly and swarming to the ball. D-line, linebackers and d-backs.
I don't want to call any players out but there is one in a very key position that can step up the intensity and become a better playmaker on defense. It's great to not be out of position on a play, but turning up the aggressiveness will be the difference between good and great. That's not a criticism, but is a call to excellence.
#6 was step for step with the WO-S receiver on that long completion. He couldn't turn around in time to see the ball, but the very fact that he stayed with him is very encouraging. These Indian defensive backs can cover some ground.
This defense is going to get better with play and may just be enough to complement the offense to achieve a few more playoff rounds.
All you PN-G haters out there who never want to give credit due to this PN-G program, and downplay the skill level year after year, hold onto your hats.
