In a average to weak district
I agree on that, the 2005-2008 district was weak!
Yet this years district was pretty strong considering we had two teams make it to the third round!

You can't coach speed or size. But the one thing that can be improved on any high school defense is tackling. There's still a little too much arm tackling going on.

Other than that:
A+ Effort
A+ Being in the right position to make a play the majority of the time. (Which has a lot to do with coaching)

Faircloth is doing a lot with what he has.

It's not fair to compare to Ethridge who had outstanding assistants on staff that made a huge difference (Greg Davis, Bruce Bush, Butch Troy, etc), and a group of athletes that won everything junior high through senior year.).

The next two years should be incredible.
To say nothing of PN-G having over 2,000 students in high school during the Ethridge years.

This team dug deep and went 3 rounds deep because of their heart, hard work and talent. The best thing I can say about BF is that he has some good solid assistant coaches who make him look good. I think we all know that if we had lost to Big Ned, he would be gone. He was lucky and had talent, amazing
seniors and players that were willing to
step up and play where they were
needed. You can't have that many
starters out, pull up your second string and go three rounds deep unless you have a deep talent pool. Never saw adjustments made, especially in the secondary, where we were weak all season. BF has a solid Defensive Line and those boys have worked their tails off against big size all season long with very little recognition by him. He throws them some crumbs every now and then, but that's about it. When you have a DB say that one of the DL is "just a stumbling block for him to get over to make a play" and the coaches let that slide, you know the defensive line had no respect. Defense wins games and if the rest of the defense isn't as solid as your front, you are going to get burned in the secondary. A group of us watched defensive linemen try to chase down receivers and backs Friday night, coming from the opposite side of the field, because of our weak zone and poor tackling.
Faircloth won't leave. He's going to ride Johnson and that strong upcoming Freshman group as long as he can or until Nederland beats us again and the board gets rid of him. He will apply for jobs, just to scare his followers, but he will stay here, kiss the right butts and ride the upcoming talent as long as he can.
But, looking forward, and more importantly, how many Seniors are we losing?
So a couple of things we just finished a wonderful season kids over achieved put in posturing by coaching. Now there seems to be one a a few things going on here: Your son was not playing or not brought up from JV or you see as some other slight presumed by you. You are of some old discipleship of PNG that did not want positive change OR your buddy or family member has some presumed slight by our coach. I have been on these message boards for a very long time every year folks show up bad mouthing the coaches and then after a season or two they are gone. Every year. Now maybe some chance you are not I do not know for sure do not really care. Just letting you know this argument would be better serving for you slighted cause IF you did it on a year we were not so successful. Guess what here is an idea it takes a team to win this many games in a year every facet of the game. We have had a solid year from every were on this team the success starts with get this coaching. Our coaches did an outstanding job this season. Could things have been better ? Sure probably but we got in 13 games this year. Faircloth has a winning % right there with Neuman. Like it or not it's true.

You can tell football season is over and everyone is already having withdrawal symptoms. There's more conversation now than during the season. ;)

Great 2016 season. Next season will be even greater! 9 all-district players returning including an MVP QB, plus 7 more players with significant playing time and solid performances under their belt.

This is a huge advantage for us. I also here we have a good crop coming through the pipeline. Anyone have any insight into that?

Also, we will have to win battles up front in trenches. What are we looking like on the offensive and defensive lines?

Any idea to the size moving up from JV? Also, we are losing an all-world linebacker in Lejuene. Gonna need somebody to step up to fill those shoes.

Also loosing a very good one in Cole Robinson. Two time All-District LB.
My guess is that Andrew English and Joe Lefort will fill in for the loss of Lejeune and Robinson at LB. Along with returning starter Alec Lebouef. They will be fine!

Lejune will be tuff to replace but it seems as though this staff is really good at that. was it Annibolli that Lejune replaced? Also the DL Sergio really seemed to come on as the season progressed.

I understand the Bost kid that is a 8th grader or so is really talented.

Either way best of luck to the kids.

Would be great if some size and quickness found it's way to the offensive line. Some of the starters this past season had a tough time with big defensive lineman.
