PN-G recovers the on-side, flag on Silsbee, PN-G turns down penalty. Indian ball, Smith takes a knee, and the game's over.

21-20 PN-G (F)

Congratulations, Indians!

An ugly win. Defense and O-Line better step it up or we will be 1-2 going into district. WO-S is very good and Summer Creek put up 70 points on South Houston.

I agree. The next two games are not gonna be easy.

It sounds like things were really off to a great start. The Indians just kind of petered out in the third quarter.

I think Smith showed himself to be a dual threat early on. If he can work on his touch, he has the makings of a great quarterback. The Defense was doing a great job through the end of the first half. They just couldn't capitalize on Silsbee's mistakes in the second half, and the offense was just flat after the last touchdown.

D was doing great in second half with pressure. Secondary played way to soft. Zone coverage opened up way to many lanes for passing. O line couldn't block at all in the second half for the run game. Don't know what happened. If the NDN's had played the second half as well as the first half it wouldn't have been much of a contest. JMHO

Offense was pathetic, the defense cannot tackle in the open field. Need to get a couple dozen chickens and have the linebackers and DB's try to catch them. Very poor fundementals on both sides of the ball. We haven't tackled well for the past 3 seasons.

On the bright side the defense held up pretty well considering the amount of time they were on the field in the 2nd half. Also 2 of Silsbee's scores were on short fields after a fumble and a bad snap on a punt. Offense and special teams gotta help these guys out.

We better find a running game and we better find it quick. Also, arm tackling will get you an 0-7 record in district.

Oh yes! I remember that game...and the rest of the history making season! I think we all need to "remember when"....when the future of our football program was bleak and we lost more than we won...when our spirits were low and we were watching and praying for a new Chief to reignite the Indian Spirit...when we were ecstatic to get the win, no matter how ugly it was! Those hopes and prayers were answered with a great coach who loves PNG and all the young men who play for him whether they win or lose! Now, we as fans, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends, and last but not least...INDIAN NATION...need to remember where we were a few short years ago, and support this man, his staff, and those young men...NO MATTER WHAT!!
