I have a good idea of where it's used elsewhere, but I'll let someone explain it that knows the full story of how the PNG team identified with it.

I know this, the players enjoy it. And if it helps them with their confidence level, even better.

Do tell. Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

Go Indians. Peace.

I couldn't tell ya! All I know is some of the player's dads asked if the band could play the "Jaws" theme on big 3rd down plays. No problem.

41 points surrendered last week.
48 surrendered so far this week to a team with 5 losses with 2 minutes remaining.

True. But, the PN-G kids hung in there and battled...they were in position to make some tackles, but the RBs for Angleton were just better. #25 was something...best high school RB I've seen in awhile. He was better than anyone PN-G faced all season. The Angleton OL controlled the trenches. Angleton ran for a lot yards and the toss sweep was there for them all night thanks to their OL...but, take nothing away from the Indians...those kids got after it, gave great effort and ran into a better team. Football has changed. Offenses score points. Plus, PN-G does not have a plethora of kids walking around in the 6'3" and 6'5" 250 lbs. - 275 lbs. range to make a dominant defense. We roll with what we got and play hard. Our kids did that this season. Proud of them.

Go Indians. Peace.

Have to disagree, #'s 40, 45 and 49 are 6'3 or taller and stand on the sidelines!!!!! Have never been our DC biggest fan!!! But we've been a poor tackling team for many years.

Anyway you cut it this has been our best defense for years. Also any way you cut it when your district is made up of poor teams you WILL NOT BE PREPARED FOR THE PLAYOFFS. The years we were so good in the 1990's we had 3 top ten treams in the state. That is what gets you prepared for the playoffs. BF had one of his best coaching seasons. Proud of this team. Next season with Port Arthur Memorial replacing GCM we will have a much stronger district. If the remove Baytown and replace them with Dayton and even much stronger district(this is only a slim possibility). That would be a district that you would not have a Lumberton, GCM, Ozen playing for a 4th spot. You would have 4 solid teams competing for the playoffs which will prepare those said teams better for the level of competetion that you will face in the Houston area were all those vastly growing communities compete with a much larger group of athletes. We will have to be loaded with a great year of athletes to compete past the 1st round or two. Its alot harder now than 15 years ago. We can do it it wil happen again. I like our chances with a young sophmore QB(if he wins the competition next summer) over the next 3 seasons.

You have to consider that none of the teams in 22-5A were able to compete with teams in this region. 22-5A teams didn't match up well with anyone past the first round. It's all about match ups. When you're out-manned you can't always scheme around that.

PN-G succeeded in stopping other teams this year by getting to good running backs before they got into the open field. They weren't able to do that against Angleton, and didn't have the speed to run down the backs.

Height alone just makes your helmet stand out. Height + Size + Strength + Agility + Quickness can't be coached. But yes, tackling can and should be.

If there is any single weakness that might be focused on, it's open field tackling. When a runner gets going, some Indian defenders struggle with how to bring them down.

If you want to see the original 'Landsharks' in action, Ole Miss is playing LSU right now on CBS.

Ole Miss plays the 'Jaws' them song over the stadium sound system throughout the game when on defense.
