OK I believe its past time to do this. Coach Templin and defensive staff......Big hats of to you. I would give you my MVP award, you and the INdians defensive players this season. Their defense has lead 22-5A all season and is the best in our district by a pretty large sum statistically. Its been a long time since we have had a defense like this. These kids have played tough physical defense all season and coach has made some really good adjustments during games. I think this praise is overdue and hope to hear some of you other Indian's fan chime in on this matter!!!!!

PNG Defense PPG is 15.2 ppg

This is one reason why the defense and team is playing so good. Every player leaves it all on the field for every play.

We should copy the logo and make some signs. Love it that the band and Indianettes have built it up. These guys are putting in some work on the field!

The Band has been playing it alot when D is on the field. Indianettes make fins with their hands and scream at the end...lol They didn't play it that much during the Central game but they usually play it several times.

Half the battle is believing. If the mental mistakes can be solved, this team has a good chance to win a few games.

I was referring to points allowed during the regular season. In 2003 it was around 140. This season is the next lowest total so far.

The defense was fairly solid the season that Clint Burnett played as well (2007 or 2008). But Lamar Consolidated had a running back that couldn't be stopped. Hes in the NFL now.

The 2009-2010 defenses allowed a lot of high scores.

Anyone see the confrontation between the O-line coach and a fan after the game last week?

Yes, we are playing well. Several of the DBs should get some looks from college guys, I would think.

138 points allowed in the 2009 regular season ;)

Thanks for pointing that out. I was thinking of the 2010 season. It would be interesting to compare YPG allowed.

That was the year PN-G had a bad start against Brenham but came roaring back. Brenham went on to play for the SC, losing to Aledo 35-21.

Yes, Dody was throwing into the end zone on the final play in 2009. Brenham was loaded with D-I talent on defense.

And that Brenham player came flying in out of nowhere to intercept the ball on the goal line with a minute or so left. PN-G ended the game on the wrong side of a 27-21 score after being down 20-0 at halftime.

I still think we would have gone all the way to the big dance if we had won that game.

Angleton would have been a test the next week but the QB Diggs, who was an all-American DB at UT, had an injured ankle. Also, they were one-dimensional (run-only) and we were very good against the run that year.

The next week, Dayton was very strong but Brenham shut them down.

Would have been interesting to go against the 11th-grade QB Johnny Manziel of Kerrville in the semi-finals.

I don't want to offend anyone, but what is up with this "land shark" nickname for the defense?
