i think before anyone starts bashing the board members that voted against this , they should ask them what was their reason. I did and i got a fair response back and i respect their reason. This is not a popularity contest. they are there to make smart descision on behalf of the taxpayers and stay within the budget. Faircloth is a professional and he is not going to let something like this he said /she said affect his job, passion and the well being of the student! The man has earned his respect from us and he gives respect to us as well. Everyone needs to relax and move on.
What great reason can they have for not wanting to spend a$5000 stipend on a sport that MAKES money for the school district. also, since Coach Faircloth has been here, how much money has been offset by the booster club? I'm not a betting man, but I would bet a paycheck its been more than $5000. How is this he said/she said? Their votes are public record. I will "relax and move on" when this crap stops. I don't enjoy getting on this board and having to talk about this complete insanity. I would much rather talk football.

I believe I heard a while back that the district is operating under a hiring freeze.
There is no hiring freeze. Other positions--teaching and administration--were filled at the last board meeting.

If I remember correctly, he taught biology, but I don't know for sure. I never had him.

Pretty sure he taught Math, and never taught any kind of Science...

That's how rumors get started when people starting talking about things before they know the facts.

Regardless, I know for a fact (it came straight from the mouth of a PN-G science teacher) that we were short a teacher in the science department before Mr. Williams' death.

I am not sure why it matters what the previous coach taught. If we are short a science teacher and short a coach why would you not fill both with one person qualified to do both jobs? It is funny to me how squaw and the others have not been on here giving us excuses of people being tricked and lied to. Surely there is some great excuse for this. If there is a valid reason why has it not been posted? Is it top secret?

Aki--funny how people use my name and attack me EVEN THOUGH I'VE ALREADY STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE VOTED WITH PARKER, BRITTAIN AND MCCUTCHEON. Can't seem to please anyone. While I agreed with the above three, I still feel we should respect the other board member's right to vote their convictions. Irregardless of what some misguided people have said, I have NEVER resorted to personal name-calling. I may say why I am not supporting someone or why I am supporting someone else--I never used the term "scrooge". That was someone else. Just for the record, I happen to personally like both Brittain and McCutcheon. Who I support next year will depend upon two things; (1) how they perform this year, and (2) who chooses to run against them. Everyone should be seeking excellence in our schools and all this negativity for negativity's sake should stop. :stop: None of this is about our coaches, athletics, etc. And, I know I am not pefect, either, but I do care. We all should

WOW Squaw you have got to be kidding me. You are THE most outpoken person in PN and you have clearly voiced your opinion on who like and why...you may have been a little more conservative on this site but like I said very little. I think it is long overdue for honesty on the threads that you post your opinons. You pride yourself as an honest and trustworthy person that the community values so much therefore I will ask you directly exactly how many meetings have you attended in the last 6 months? You are a very involved and influential person that cares more about PN football than ANYONE so tell us why did your friends on the school board vote the way they did?

I don't keep count, but its been at least 2 or 3. I have had to deal with some serious health issues that had to come first, but I do keep up with who votes what by reading the minutes which everyone can do, also. I AM outspoken, as my fiends will attest to, but I am not an evil, vindictive person. I am interested in the schools for two reasons; (1) I am a retired teacher and care about our students and (2) I love this community and having a renown school district goes hand-in-hand with having a close, family-oriented community. Parker, Brittain and McCutcheon voted for hiring the coach/science teacher because they recogized the need for both a coach and a science teacher due to increased student populations. I was told that the others who voted against this did so because they felt like the district needed to be fiscally responsible and athletics already has a large budget. I don't care any more about the Indians than any other fan who has close to 50 years of supporting the Indians. AND, I've only missed 5 games due to illness. Feel free to call me if you have other questions.

I encourage All Faircloth supporters to attend the board meetings on a regular basis. This will show our newest elected officials that the community is behind this man and all his coaches. We have to many politics happening right now and I truely believe that most people are not aware of what's going on. Again I encourage EVERYONE to attend!

I agree everyone should attend board meetings but it should be out of concern for the future of our schools, children, and community. What I am upset about is the fact that people think they can sit in thier chairs make a few phone calls and know what is going on soley based on those phone calls and not first hand information.

You like them so much that you have called for them to be voted out ON THIS BOARD.You are so in love with them that you accused them of starting rumors about people harrassing Coach Faircloth so they could get elected next year ON THIS BOARD. With a friend like you, they sure don't need enemies. Also, nice job trying to dismiss all of this by saying its all just a bunch of negativity...people on this board are starting to see the validity of the posts about the anti-Faircloth agenda on the board, you can't just dismiss it. Also, thanks for the laugh...you calling someone out for being negative..now THAT'S a laugh! :ha:

I've looked at the PN-GISD website and reviewed the pages where the Board of Trustees are listed. I see agendas and notices of meetings, but I do not see where any minutes are recorded and posted. Can someone post a link to this information. Living in Houston, I can't make board meetings in Groves (my wife and kids might think that is a little too much devotion to PN-G from afar), but I would like to review them online. Squaw, if you could post a link, I'd appreciate it. Or, anyone, please post a link or web address. Many thanks.

Go Indians. Peace.

The board minutes, when approved, should appear under one of the links on the following page:

https://v3.boardbook.org/Public/PublicHome.aspx?ak=123908

I reviewed the listing and the last meeting (Special or Regular) that contains meeting minutes is January 12, 2010. No meetings since that time have had minutes posted.
