If not on the highway then at least down Merriman as the buses are leaving the school. Let's try to put this together and make it happen. I am going to talk to my kids about it.

The way I've seen it done in the past is signs and streamers down Merriman, streamers on light poles down Magnolia and then signs on highway stopping right before the underpass to get on Twin City (mainly on right hand side). I'm not sure if they still take this route. I'm available to help and my daughter is an Indianette so signs are no trouble for her...lol I think if all the indianettes would make a sign for their lockerboy and place put them along Merriman, and Cheerleaders could do the streamers on the light poles and parents fill in with signs anywhere else then it could work and not interfere too much with people's Thanksgiving plans. I'm going out of town Thursday morning and will be back Friday afternoon so I can help up until Wed night and then Fri evening if necessary.

I just remember when I was in band and we made it to State and parents put signs out along this route and it made us feel SO GOOD...and we kicked butt and got 5th in the State that year so I know this would make our boys feel good and get them pumped up to bring home the WIN! I hope we can work this out, maybe we could organize something at the booster club meeting tomorrow night,

AS I posted on another thread, my sister who posts on this message board quite reqularly is a TXDOT employee. She was previously in charge of the department (Highway Beautification)that governs road signs. It is in violation of state law to erect signs on state right of way without a permit. Unfortunately, Magnolia from the Nederland Ave intersection to the underpass is state right of way, as is Hwy 347. Now I do know that the old railroad right of way where the tract has been removed is not on state right of way. One would not want to get caught putting signs on the state right of way but TXDOT employees will not be working this Friday or Saturday. Some years back my sis got a call from a Nederland mom about the signs they had put up for their boys and that TXDOT employees had removed. When the lady was told that she could call a certain department to try to get her signs back but that they had been illegal she quickly hung up. As for me, I sure do hope those signs are pretty.

Just saying I've seen them there in the past. I just think we should do something even if it's just signs on Merriman.

I am not saying don't do it. I don't know what the city right of way rules state. I was trying to give some hints how to make it happen and probably not have a problem. If they were put up Friday or Saturday, TXDOT employees won't be working. If somebody from PN doesn't pick the signs up, the TXDOT employees are not going to know who put them up. Like I said, I hope the signs are real pretty.

I am not sure of the city rules for this, but there is never a week that goes by that there are not for sale and garage sale signs at the intersection by Jack In The Box.

Didn't see anyone respond to this earlier question about PN-G getting "credit" for ticket sales at the stadium, so I thought I'd chime in. UIL rules mandate that each team receive 50% of the net gate receipts, so it doesn't matter where you buy the tickets. Net gate receipts are determined after game expenses (stadium rental fees, officials fees, team travel, etc.).

I think I've seen it at party city. There's a party place on Boston you could try too.

They've got about 15 people. Ten are our high schoolers. Lots of us parents sent them to wait for us since they are out of school this week. ;D They are having a blast.

Excellent - you guys had a great idea! Let's see if we can get the Indianettes and cheerleaders involved too! Buy streamers, tape, anything purple and white and wrap it around the trees, fenceposts, signs, light poles, etc. Make the signs. As much and as high as we can go! What a great thing for these high school kids to see. Think we can spread the word and get everyone over to Merriman?

Sure...rally the troups and name the time and place and I'll be there! I say post it on Facebook if you have one. I'll post it on mine once the details are worked out. I'm free until Wed evening then I'll be out of town but I should be back Fri afternoon. Also spread the word when you're in line for tickets tomorrow.

There is no way that they will sell 5000 ticket's Monday, much less 8000. I guess some people just need an excuse to camp out. I will show up just before they close and get the same ticket's that some of these people are camping out for. I guess it's all in fun, enjoy yourselves.

I just got my tickets and made it back to the house at 10:00 am. I got there at 9. I had about 100 fans in front of me and as the line was moving a steady flow was stepping in line. I asked the ticket lady how many tickets they had left so far and she said they had 4 adult rolls and 4 student rolls. Each roll has 500 tickets. She told they may have one more of each in a cabinet but wasn't sure. SO I would say the ticket sales are steady and should be a packed house Saturday night.

I'll be there bright and early tomorrow! I got a couple questions.

First, will the school district still get credit for tickets purchased at Stallworth? If not, it would be a great idea to offer an incentive to get people to come purchase tickets here. Like offer a tshirt, car flag, or yard sign to the first 100 in line, then give stickers, koozies, or footballs to all others that purchase tickets Monday. I'm sure fans will be out in full force tomorrow, but a little added incentive never hurt. I just like to see the money stay in the district, our kids need it!

Hi there yelling lady. Poppa is in line now getting tickets NDN53547781
Second, I hope there are plans in the works to line the bus route out of town with signs, streamers, flags, etc. I've seen this done in the past, but nothing recently. I think it's a AWESOME way to show our team we are proud of them and support them 100%!
I believe it is against the law to put signs on the highway right of way so you might want to check with TXDOT. Actually, my sister who posts on this site regularly is in charge of that department. Her computer is down right now so I will check with her and post again later.
