Here’s something about this game I don’t understand
Tomball OL goes into a 3pt stance QB claps then looks at sideline much like we do
Well. The OL keeps their hand down but contorts themselves in a “take a knee” look at the sideline. This USED to be a false start. Then they practically look like your dad getting out of the recliner after a big meal and go back to original 3pt. I always believed that the Tom Landry “OL bounce” was only possible because they hadn’t gone into stance yet. They’re moving all over the place before the snap.

Respectable game against a very good opponent. Still, we have alot of work to do on both offense and (especially) defense.

I watched the game on Texan Live from Ohio. Tough loss which all loses are but I thought the Indians showed game in this one against a 6A squad that was obviously better than we are. I was proud of both the offense and defense against this team. Ashamed that Sandell came down with Covid and could not play, that was several points we missed, but probably not enough to win. Still proud of my Indians, keep fighting fellows!!!! You will have a great season, I can see it coming. Enjoy your off week before MCM and lets kick you no what!!!!!!!!!!!

Upside is they played much better in the second half both offensively and defensively at times. Scored 3 TDs in the second half. That’s progress.

Proud of the Indians for competing. I do not know if it came across on the online stream, but, in-person, Tomball had some serious size. What are they feeding those kids? Tomball controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Our DL was out-weighed 50 lbs. (or more) per man. Tomball's DL was a force. #52 for Tomball was big and disruptive. #34 for Tomball played on our side of the ball, too. Need to clean up the snap. We can't continue to misfire on the snap...sideways, at the QBs feet.... It throws off the timing. Need to find ways to get our WRs open and tighten up the secondary coverage. Tomball scored 41 points, but the PN-G defense played decent. Tomball's QB got loose on the TDs, but our kids were in position to make stops. We give a lot of space when the DBs play off the ball. People in the stands mentioned PN-G had four kids out on defense and Sandell was out in the kicking game. The Indians are banged up. Two weeks off to get healthy and ready for MCM. Tomball had a nice stadium...nice folks. Enjoyed seeing the PN-G kids. Still not a fan of the gray helmets and gray pants. When PN-G goes on the road, go with the stormtrooper look...white helmets, white jersey, and white pants with PURPLE TRIM. At home, mix the purple/white look and if you must, then mix in some gray with the purple jersey. I'm old, kids today don't give a rat's rear end about my opinion, and I get that. I will stop my "get off my lawn" moment. I just prefer PURPLE and WHITE. On the road, ALL WHITE. Proud of the Indians for fighting until the end.

This is the best team we will play this year in my opinion better than Crosby
But… Don’t sleep on Texas City this year

The slow developing plays are killing the offense. Crippen has to get rid of the ball faster. If the receivers don’t have ability to separate then well timed throws are the answer. Problem there is opponents will see that on film and good defensive backs will jump on those once they recognize the pattern. Last night Tomball’s big defensive line was a load for the offensive line and the running game was not as good. Crippen had one good run but overall he is still not a good runner. He had opportunities to pick up some nice gains under pressure but he’s not a strong runner yet. If he’s going to run he needs to do so with determination and decisiveness. But he’s a young QB and that will likely improve this year and next. Some potential is there but this is not the typical PNG offensive powerhouse that we’ve seen more often than not.

Defense does hit better and is in good position on runs most of the time. The line is the strength of this defense. Linebackers are pretty good too. The secondary still needs a lot of work. There were some definite bright spots last night but Tomball is a strong 6A offense that will be tough for any team to stop. Take away those QB runs and it was not a bad defensive showing.

Question for anyone: Manvel was favored over Houston Wisdom by 90 by DCTF. DCTF posted a final score of Manvel winning 1-0. I know a 1 point score is possible with a 1 point safety but I don't know what actually happened to produce this. The Manvel athletics site says the game was cancelled in the 1st quarter. Yet they show that Manvel won the game 1-0 and is reflecting as such in their league standings. Anyone know what's going on here?

Probably a forfeit. That's the only way 1-0 can occur. A safety is 2 points.

Another thought is I expect PNG to have the short passing game down to a science. That’s the bread and butter. Practiced over and over to perfection. It doesn’t look that way this year.

You can actually have a 1 point safety if the following things happen, I did not know that either until I googled it:
If a defensive player retreats into his own end zone following an interception, fumble, or blocked kick on a conversion attempt and is tackled there, the tackling team is awarded 1 point.

Check out the attached link, there is a video showing a 1 point safety to help understand how it can happen. Since this is not a hyperlink, copy and paste into your browser to read and see the video.

As I have said before. This set of receivers can’t hold a candle to any of the past. They don’t have speed and they don’t know how to get theirselves open. I know they don’t have a lot of experience but they should be able to find the soft spot and give Crippen a bigger window to throw into. My son was a receiver a few years ago and as he watched the game made several comments about the receivers not running the proper routes for the play called. There is no excuse for that.

Practice, practice, practice. Greatness requires the effort to reach that level. QB and receivers can work on timing and patterns any time. Weekends, evenings. In their sleep… but make sure they are running the routes properly and practice the right way. Coaches are there to do that.

I’ve always heard 1-0 in football is the notation for a forfeit
Other news TCUs look today is my favorite PNG look. White helmets purple shirt white pants. The less silver the better IMO

Cant have a short passing game unless the snaps reach the QB and the timing isn't disrupted. IMO
