Final 41-22. PN-G took Vidor's best punches but stood toe to toe and out slugged them. Very, very impressive win.

Kudos to Vidor. You are a good team.

Final

The QB - Roschon Johnson is special. What a game. Kudos to the PN-G OL, Hughes, McZeal, McGough, and the entire Indian defense.

Go Indians. Peace.

NHS beat Central--not certain what that does for the playoff picture. We don't want to go to 5A DI.

Agreed. I laid this scenario out several weeks ago. Basically stating that we could be in a position to beat Nederland the last game of the season but that a victory could force Ned out of the playoffs and push PNG into D1.

The PN-G radio team had Vidor with 200-215 yards rushing in the first half...if true, then PN-G held Vidor to approx. 100 yards rushing in the second half. I'd say the halftime speech and adjustments worked pretty well. On offense, PN-G continues to be balanced and efficient...and it helps to have a QB that can make something out of nothing. Good game Indians. On to week #8 with Honor, Pride and Tradition.

Go Indians. Peace.

From PA News
http://www.panews.com/2016/10/08/394-big-ones-johnson-helps-indians-turn-tide-on-pirates/

The Pirates, who scored on all but one first-half possession, were forced to punt twice and lost the ball on downs on another drive of the second half. PNG held Vidor to 85 second-half yards, all on the ground, after allowing 213 rushing in the first 24 minutes.
Johnson helped the Indians capitalize, using a nice cutback to the infield on a 54-yard touchdown sprint and finding McZeal wide-open on the 58-yarder.
PNG outgained Vidor 431-312 in total yards.

Great win Indians! I gotta admit, I was very uneasy at halftime, but BF had some of his own tricks up his sleeve. Very impressive. Indians clicking on ALL cylinders last night.

I'm hoping that playing a tough Vidor team triggered the mean and nasty switch for the Indians. And they carry that into the Memorial and Nederland games. Play smart but give no quarter. For all 4 quarters.

Probably Baytown Lee this season. I think they had 50 something yards in the first half.

When was the last time the Indians held a varsity team to under 100 yards in a half? (Joke...Baytown Lee was terrible; not a knock on the Indians)

When was the last time the Indians had a strong defensive performance against a solid opponent? The second half vs. Vidor was rock solid per the PN-G radio team. The Indians need this momentum vs. PAM, Central, Ozen and Nederland.

Go Indians. Peace.
