Week 8 Game Discussion: PNG at Memorial

A lot of great memories of PN-G vs. TJ and Lincoln football at Port Arthur ISD Stadium. And the Red Hussars, marching bands, etc. And one of my favorite early life football memories is of the year TJ lost a close game to Austin Reagan at Rice Stadium.

Memorial Stadium seats about 9,500-10,000. Their visitors side is slightly larger than the visitors seating at The Reservation so it will be a tight fit. But I hope purple and white fills the place up.

PAM is the favorite for a reason. I see it being there game to loose. PNG will have to be perfect to win this game.

As usual a lot of disrespect from other local fans is directed at the Indians.

Memorial is talented, but so is PN-G. Johnson will be a focus, but Hughes is going to surprise some people.

Mistakes and penalties will determine this game.

Time for score predictions.

27-24 Titans.

Both defenses are good. I dont foresee an offensive shootout. I dont think we'll see much scoring first half also. Alot of feeling each other out 1st half.

Hope its an injury free/epic first game between the two. :punchingbag:
anyone out this week with injuries other than the DL?
As far as I know, just Luke Morris is out.

That's a big loss. What happened to him?
I believe Luke got a stinger in his neck last week. He came out of the Vidor game in the second quarter and never returned. He stood on the sideline the entire second half without his shoulder pads on. That’s another reason us shutting out Vidor in the second half was so impressive is that probably our best D-lineman was not on the field. I don’t think he will be suiting up this week. Hopefully he will be back next week.

Bummer about our DL - Morris.

BG - my guess is PN-G 29 and PAM 28 ... note the word guess. :)

Go Indians. Peace.

Both teams are talented. PN-G will bring a relentless effort for 4 quarters and will not be intimidated. And if Memorial focuses on one or two players (RJ and KM), the other 4 or 5 proven skill position players will get their yardage. Key to this game IMO is the PN-G offensive line. Win the LOS and allow time to throw the ball and the Indians will mix it up and drive the ball all night long.

One notable difference I see in PNG and a lot of the PA fans is not much respect coming from PA. Quite the opposite as a matter of fact. Not very impressive. Especially the comments about 'taking it personal' that 'PA players' are wearing purple and white. Backwards thinking. But luckily fans don't play the game and what we do or say is just hot air. I hope players on both sides of the ball play a clean game and avoid injuries, and leave the BS outside the stadium.

Good luck to both teams. The only common opponent the two teams have is Lumberton with pretty much equal stats and points. There is no clear advantage on either side, both teams have their share of star players. This game will go to the team that keeps it's cool and avoids stupid mistakes and turnovers. PN-G 34-28.
