I've been looking for it but have not been able to find it. Of course it's probably right under my nose. But, was curious. I know Harmon is now over 1200 + yards for the season. Does anyone know ?

Per www.pngindians.com, Jeff Bergeron ran for over 1500 yards as a JR and for over 1400 as a SR. I believe Ron McGill ran for over 1600 yards during the 1989 season under Danny Malone. I could be wrong, but, I believe Ron McGill holds the single season record. I do not have access to my copy of "Down The Trails of Victory" -- but -- the answer is in there. Check there ... look under the 1989 season and see what Ron McGill churned out. And, check the 1974 to 1977 playoff runs. We had some good backs, but we had so many of them split time in the backfield that no single back piled up huge numbers. In 1977, per the info on www.pngindians.com, both Justin Eicher and James Shipley ran for over 1000 yards each ... plus during 1975 and 1976, Ritchy Ethridge, Blake Green, Mark Buchanan, Kevin Landry, and a few other RBs all piled up some yards. And, if you go way back, then check out 1964-1965 when Mike Simpson played ... he churned out some yards, too. Still, I would go with Ron McGill's 1989 season. I remember him running for a lot of yards.

Here's hoping we have a big playoff run and Caleb Harmon runs for 2000+ yards.

Go Indians. Peace.

All great runners. But don't forget the 'Flying Frenchmen', LeBoeuf and LaBorde. Gordon LeBoeuf is the all-time single season rusher at PN-G with 2,150 yards in 1955. He led the entire state in rushing yardage that year, and was selected to the high school All-American team after the season.

To put Harmon's season in perspective, and emphasize what a tremendous year he's having, his numbers to this point compare well with any running back in modern (post 1960) times. The following list is not complete but provides a good comparison. Keep in mind that Bergeron only played 10 games each of his seasons.

Harmon has 1,467 yards in 9 games this season. He is well on his way to finishing in the top 2 in yards gained in a season. And topping all runners other than Gordon LeBoeuf. But even that total is not out of reach.

Additional note: Harmon's per game average so far is 163.0. Not far behind Gordon LeBoeuf's 1955 per game average of 165.4 yards per game.

Fellow fans, you ARE witnessing a historic rushing effort by Harmon. Of course it's also a team accomplishment that belongs to the entire offense. A good offensive line and passing game enable the big runs.

Top 7 Career Rushing Leaders at PN-G

1. Gordon LeBoeuf (1953-55) - 4,794
2. Jeff Bergeron (1970-72) - 3,928
3. Bobby LaBorde (1953-55) - 3,193
4. Mark Buchanan (1973-75) - 2,678
5. Jake Hemmings (2005-07) - 2,635
6. Josh Cook (2003-04) - 2,364
7. Caleb Harmon (2008-09) - 2,106*

Caleb Harmon has 2,106 yards rushing and counting with at least 2+ games to go. So he's got a good shot at reaching 4th best in PN-G history. That would be a great accomplishment.

Must have been awesome to be there in '54 with two backs that are in the top 10 all time for season yardage. Wish I would have seen it.

Just browsing the list and someone might want to look up Bryan Cappadonna from 1996. Started last 5 games and I believe rushed for right at 1,000 yards in just 5 starts.

All of these were great running backs, but I'd like to know how many games each played to get those yards.

What great accomplishments all these backs have made.I notice that during the 1977 season that two backs broke the 1200 yard rushing mark. It's time for more records to be broken run Caleb run.
