Final: PN-G Indians 35, La Porte Bulldogs 21

Not to beat a dead horse but after reading your response and it making sense, I went and found the post from NDN Press on FB. It was Aug 28. It basically says that the UIL sent notice that student led broadcasts will no longer be approved for the playoffs. So their live broadcasts will end at the conclusion of the regular season.
It does give the UIL email and phone number if a person wanted further explanations. So I don't understand what's going on.
Sad if true. Funny that they would say that to NDN press and present it on their website as if it was not true (i.e., on website “academic broadcasts of playoffs are allowed with appropriate approvals unless the same game is being broadcast by a UIL partner” when in reality “however if you request approval it will always be denied.”)

P.S.- I hope they try anyways.

New State Rankings:
3 PNG
16 Huntsville
32 Montgomery
35 Dayton
36 Montgomery Lake Creek
37 Nederland
63 New Caney West Fork
85 Splendora
NR Cleveland

It's still too early to take these Rankings seriously but this is the start.

I really like these sideline videos after the fact. Go to 2:40
#2 makes the catch and after that first juke and I swear the crowd yells JUDE!
I almost stood up and did bonsai after that one
They capitalized off that interception. That's good football.

Objectively thinking, there are a lot of teams in Texas. It’s borderline amazing that Matt Stepp can even contain a percentage of knowledge on all these districts and teams. Maybe it is an over reaction to inject purpose for not talking more about the Indians. I suspect a lot of teams have the same lack of attention.

PN-G fans are particularly ravenous for information and news about their team. Sports reporters and analysts surely know this. But I think PNG is also seen as a medium sized fish in a small pond. How much attention does SE Texas receive at the state level? Other than PN-G and WO-S, there are no programs that grab attention. Nederland and West Brook occasionally make noise, but overall they are not high profile. The more bothersome issue I have is that local reporting is so sparse. The reason could be as ridiculous as petty agendas to not cover PN-G. Or maybe it’s just a numbers game and resources are not assigned to PN-G games. Not sure how that can be addressed. It’s beyond any insight I have. Maybe others here that are more plugged in or have media contacts would have an opinion.

I do also recognize what others have mentioned, even channel 6 and 12 offer no mention of the La Porte game. Where they almost always covered or mentioned PN-G games. Maybe they did on the live broadcasts and just some publish the video online? It would be nice if they could explain why.
Money talks. I walked. I cancelled both online subscriptions to Beaumont Enterprise and Port Arthur News due to lack of sports coverage. ad sponsors for their “news papers” should understand who their audience is. Garage Sales must be the focus for both papers now days.

It's good to hear something finally.
Sorry if I jumped the gun a little bit earlier.
Both Spoke about 6A Klein Oak and their narrow district loss to 6A Magnolia and narrow win over 6A Cypress Falls. Stepp favored Klein Oak over Klein Cain in their next district game. Phenomenal KO running back Rhodes. KO lost 17-23 to Cain.

No mention of 5AD2 PNG 45-20 season opening win over 6A Klein Oak. Doesn’t support their KO story narrative.
Just saying absence makes the heart grow fonder.
