FINAL: SOC 28, PNG 0

First…I’m SO PROUD to be a PNG INDIAN!! No matter what the scoreboard, their players, coaches, or fans say….our defense punched SOC in the mouth and had the offense executed better and been 100%, I feel pretty confident the outcome would’ve been MUCH different!!
Second…here’s some words of wisdom posted by 15 y/o PNG student about the behavior of GROWN ADULTS after the game! Saw quite a few others experienced similar incidents as well! IMG_2304.jpeg
Third…I’m SICK of this crap…it has happened EVERY year and WE get labeled as being “whiners” “racist” or “sore losers” for complaining about it but many PNG fans, including my son and I were harassed after we BEAT them in 2023! Sadly, stuff like this seems to always get ignored until something REALLY bad happens!!

I have stated this before but the UIL is being very hypocritical with the allowance of open enrollment schools to recruit and play in the UIL system in the division that matches their enrollment numbers but make the private schools play in 6A (highest classification) no matter their enrollment numbers if they wish to play in the UIL system because they recruit.
That said I don’t blame Coach Todd one bit for exploiting it and creating a juggernaut with the largest ISD in Texas to choose from. It’s a UIL problem.
+1000

3:39p CST Anybody at the stadium yet? Indians be like....sorry I got a mean streak. I blame Coach Pachuca.

So happy young people got to see the reality of the world, will help them make better choices in the future.

Thoughts from the drive home from the game and day after...what a great season with a great group of senior leaders and the best coaching staff in Texas. To the JRs, Sophs, and FR, you all have big shoes to fill. Get some rest and start your march to the 2026 5A-DII state championship on January 5 or 6, or whenever you return from the holiday break. 2025 was another great ride. Others may laugh at me, but I believe we had a state championship team this season. Injuries got us and a good QB, two exceptional RBs and some good WRs from SOC got away from us. Tip of the cap to the two RBs for SOC. Tough duo. That's OK. There are hundreds of teams that would take 13-1. The future is bright with Ashworth, Henry, Gohlke, Jackson, Reeves, Valcin, Malveaux, Trevino, et al.

In this case the stats does reveal the game mostly. We stopped their run. They had a few passes.
Other notes: no special teams or field goals.
Penalties, mistakes, turnovers hurt us a lot.
Exactly. Not much else to say. As much as I hate to say it, they played nearly a mistake free game and we did not. That’s what you have to do to win games in the later rounds of the playoffs. Despite all the factors related to recruiting and injuries, which are all worthy of discussion, we were still very capable of winning this game if we had played a bit better. It actually makes me even prouder of our players and coaching staff.

Being a poor looser is one thing being a poor winner is another. This reminds me of my early years where fights happened often. I believe they beefed up the police at those games to solve the problem.
Very sad to see this happening.
I too got the "chop chop". "Get on the freeway" and all other crap going to my car after the game.
These are people who hate and want to perpetuate it in their children and community.
A beefed up police presence is what worked before. Of course the haters love to know that they caused such a fuss that the police were called.

I'm watching the Ducanville/Waxahacie game and SOC fans(in the chat) are still chirping about PNG. We really got into their heads. Hopefully next year we can give them something else to talk about.

Also thanks to all the senior band members, Indianettes, twirlers, G-crew, cheerleaders and everyone else that helped create the great Friday night experiences.
100000% Agree with this!! They do such an amazing job every week. I always look forward to the show every week at halftime and through out the game.

I am definitely not laughing at you as I completely agree with you. Before the injury bug reared its ugly head, we definitely had the team to take us back to Jerry World. Nothing against Ashworth as his future looks very bright, but having a seasoned CB behind center last night and SOC does not win that game. SOC is no longer the 3-eyed monster and Randle will expose them - again - in two weeks. With Randle slated to move up to 5A1 next season and with the talent we have coming back... 2026 is looking really promising.

Others can laugh at me, but if we stay in Region 2, PNG vs. Iowa Colony sounds like a great game to go watch at a certain venue in Arlington.

Sorry I got a laugh out of this today even though I cant stand

According to SOC Assistant Principal the taunting went both ways

I’ll put this here as well this either didn’t happen OR it was most likely reactionary I’m not saying we’re perfect and that we don’t have bad apples we do BUT every year it’s this same SOC plays victim stuff!I’m in every single Public SOC group I stalk many of there outspoken fans “yes I’m crazy lol” you know what I don’t see in there comments PNG fans I comment from time to time mostly just game day banter or wishing them good luck but thats IT but I do see HUNDREDS of SOC fans coming into every single PNG group or even non related local news stations harassing belittling and even THREATENING fans and students and then when a PNG fan reacts they play victim,Not saying the reactions are justified but that’s what’s happening.

And now you know were it comes from, my arching through the parking lot after the game was there way of rubbing the Indians fans noses in it, also I was in the parking standing by my car waiting for my daughter to sign my grandson out of the band I I have now for the last 3 years, while 5 SOC students walk up to me and start talking trash, there just happened to be a Bryan police officer close that came over and told them to move along. I’m not sure why a person in her position would act like they did nothing wrong. I will say this it wasn’t the actual band members that were harassing me, but it was some of there student body.

Newton '73 grad here.
Living in Virginia now, but I would always tell people that a trip to the Reservation is a MUST BUCKET LIST thing. I saw four PNG games - two at PNG and two playoff games (vs. Brenham at Aldine I think, and the classic against Stephenville in the Dome - what a crowd).

You guys have built an incredible program and I really enjoying following across the miles. Way to go.

Now let's see what Newton can do against East Bernard.
I too, live out of state but had a chance to come in and see the Midlothian game on Thanksgiving weekend. It's only the fourth PNG game I have seen since 2001. Good times and great memories!

It’s easy to look back and see more than enough plays that could have resulted in more points. The turf trips alone probably 14-21 points worth. (The pass to Brisboe behind receivers in the end zone, the pass to Jackson and the Ashworth run within clear view of the end zone) That’s as much a shoe problem as anything else. It simply wasn’t meant to be and is what it is. Nothing to be ashamed of. The Indians walked away on the low end of the scoreboard this time. Not as a lesser team and certainly not a team that should hang its head.
I agree the turf trips cost us points. I wish we had played this game at Montgomery's stadium (our home away from home), where our players are accustomed to the turf. Ashworth would have sailed into the end zone untouched on that first touchdown opportunity, and perhaps Brisboe could have caught that first pass thrown to him in the end zone instead of tripping. That 4th quarter interception in the end zone was painful, but I have to admit the one-handed grab by the SOC player was awesome!

Speaking of being a "poor winner," I'll never forget seeing "Plano #1" scrawled all over the back of my car's windshield at Texas Stadium after our unexpected loss to them in 1977. At least I didn't have a flat tire, like the people parked close to me. Not sure if that was intentional, or just an unfortunate circumstance.
