Spring Practice

Yes it’s a trade off

Do we want LBS or cardio conditioning
It’s very tough to have both without a superior frame structure and other things (hormone levels testosterone etc)

What do we choose to do with these calorie intakes
Grow, build muscle, perform cardio

Also overlooked things like Potassium and magnesium intake as well as (overlooked by almost everyone) beta carotene (carrot juice)
I’d suggest for every athlete of any kind drink between 1/2 to a whole liter of carrot juice a day most grocery stores (not all) have it bottled
Since I’ve been doing that I feel 10-20 years younger
Coconut water also for potassium

I don’t see it listed.

I have photos of the spring game purple and white rosters that the booster club was handing out. Should I post under PNG insiders? names, scrimmage jersey numbers, class listed is for 2025 (i.e. current seniors are labeled as juniors) and jersey numbers are for this scrimmage only in many cases.

Was really impressed with the performance of the numerous sophomores. White jersey Sophomore WR Number 1 is a keeper.

Looks like the starting Purple Jersey OL:
#74 LT returning Senior
#57 LG Senior
#58 C Junior
#55 RG Senior former TE/HB backup
#56 RT Senior

This year’s in OL will be a testimonial how well the coaches/ system over the last four years is able to refine/develop talent. A senior laden OL every year that can win in the trenches demonstrates coaching skills and players desire to succeed.

Sounds good. It may seem paranoid to pundits, but I personally don’t care what anyone like that thinks. Having that info somewhat limited sounds good. No reason to make anything easy.

Great advice. A few more thoughts.

At least 1g gram of quality protein per pound of lean mass, whey protein powder for pre/post workout, 5g of Creatine Monohydrate, a balanced diet of complex foods, good hydration and electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium), 8-10 hours of rest every night, and the basic supplement stack that all humans should take (multivitamin, fish oil, vitamin D, etc.)
Some people think creatine is some form of steroids. It’s not. Creatine is safe, well studied and a proven boost for work capacity as well as cognitive health. For young football players, it means high intensity effort and faster recovery is enhanced. It enables more effective work, it’s not a magic powder. They have to lift year round to reach their max athletic and strength potential.

With the FR/rising SOPH P. Woods and Gohlke in the slots, D. Jackson out wide, and another bigger WR target yet to be determined, the Indians could go four wide with Ashworth and Henry in the backfield. That's a great set to spread out the defense. Put a slot WR in motion to find some open space and the RPO game should be pretty lethal. Last year, Gohlke drove defenses crazy when the Indians hit him with a quick strike two yards off the line of scrimmage and allowed him to zig-zag all over the field for 10, 20, and 50 yards. Go back to last year's LaPorte game when Gohlke drove them nuts. Imagine those quick hits with two quick strike targets in the slots. The OC has some talent to work with and show his creativity. When teams take away the quick hits to the slots, just let D. Jackson run the post for a TD!!! Just need to keep Ashworth upright with a clean jersey.

And Ashworth’s running ability really adds another dimension. That’s something that hasn’t existed at the QB position since Bost graduated.
