    FINAL: PN-G 24, Austin LBJ 19

Pros: Our defense is outstanding. Our offense is very talented, very capable and nearly unstoppable when executing. LBJ hasn't been scored on in eight weeks. They've been blowing teams out scoring 6+ touchdowns a game nearly all season long. We held them to three scores and put up four on them...

I told y'all. Their defense is good.

    FINAL: PN-G 24, Austin LBJ 19

They had three when I was in school. Increased it to four a few years ago because the band is now over 250 students strong and covers so much of the field. Having a fourth drum major providing direction at certain points around the field keeps students on beat when they lose their line of sight...

    FINAL: PN-G 24, Austin LBJ 19

We've had some good pass plays tonight, and passing the ball keeps them from stacking the box. This is still a tough defense we're up against.

Area Playoffs: PN-G vs Austin LBJ

This is correct. LBJ is the only strong 5ADII team in the Austin area. All the good 5A teams in Austin are DI. Teams like Bastrop, Elgin, Leander Rouse and so on wouldn’t do so well going up against 5ADII counterparts in Houston if they shared a district with them.

    GAME DAY: PN-G 38, Montgomery 17

Guys, we're lucky to have a radio broadcast. Very few schools do. Lance, Francis and Rachel do a good job.

    Montgomery Bears

I suspect the game was moved because Montgomery has concerns about traveling to and from Port Neches in inclement weather.

    Montgomery Bears

Of the seven blowouts LBJ has won, only two of them were over teams with winning records. Their two losses are to two of the four teams with winning records that they’ve played. Keep in mind that they only played a nine game regular season schedule. Yes, LBJ is an athletic, talented team, but...

Top 25 Texas High School Football Computer Rankings - Class 5A Division II — Week 10, 2022

Y’all remember last year when we played an undefeated team from Montgomery County in the second round was of the playoffs and everyone else in the state was picking against us because we had four losses on our record, but then we pulled off a “shocker” that none of us PN-G fans were surprised by...

Nederland Bulldogs @ Port Neches-Groves Indians MCM Time!!!!!!

I made it to Port Neches for this game, and I watched every second of it right there in the stadium, getting drenched by the rain the whole time. It’s the first time I’ve had a chance to see Coach Joseph’s PN-G Indians play, and there are noticeable improvements. To start with the obvious, our...

    INDIAN NATION

Most college teams have an introductory video that plays in their stadium before the team runs onto the field. Would be neat if PN-G could put one together using this song as the background.

Port Neches-Groves Indians @ Santa Fe Indians

I’ve got a story about that, too. We had so many people in purple on the Riverwalk the weekend of that game, that one of the restaurant owners told one of the adults in our party to give them a heads up if PN-G ever came back to San Antonio so they could dye the river purple. I’ll never forget...

Port Neches-Groves Indians @ Santa Fe Indians

One of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had at Buc-ee’s happened at the one in Baytown. PN-G was playing one of the Baytown schools at Stallworth. I was passing through headed the other direction, from Austin to Port Neches, about an hour or so ahead of the game. It was pure coincidence that I...

Texas Governor Greg Abbott Comes Out in Support of PN-G Indians

I can’t seem to upload the video. He was asked a question about it in an interview with KFDM last night. He fully supports PN-G keeping the mascot, and referred to it as a “celebration.” https://kfdm.com/news/local/kfdms-aaron-drawhorn-with-governor-greg-abbott-in-exclusive-one-on-one-interview

Things are clicking on special teams and defense. We still have some things to figure out on offense. I agree with an earlier comment about bringing in Todd Dodge. We can still use him as a consultant, and I think Crippen and Shea would both benefit from his tutelage under center.

    Interesting Conversation

I had an interesting experience today that I think this group would find worthy of sharing. At an event in Rosenberg this morning, I had a running conversation with a Texas state representative from Pearland named Ed Thompson. Long before Rep. Thompson ever ran for office, he was a high school...

Nederland’s got problems this year. I smell a coaching change on the horizon. We may be looking a the Nederland of old (i.e., pre-Neumann) the next few years.

I heard Reed was injured in an ATV accident? May have to relearn to walk? Take it with a grain of salt because it’s hearsay. I could very well be wrong.
