Team apparently did well in the PNG tournament, winning three of the four games for which scores are available. A 5th game is listed on their schedule for the tournament, but no score for it is available and it is possible it was not even played. The teams record is now 8-2 in non-scrimmage games for which scores are available, with two missing scores for scheduled games that may have been cancelled for unknown reasons. The district appears to be shaping up as a three way race between PNG, 7-1 Nederland, and perennial powerhouse Barbers Hill with a record of 11-1.

Team stumbled in the Lufkin tournament, going 1-3 after losing a couple of close games. Overall record in non-scrimmage games for which scores are available is now 9-5. They should be well prepared for district play, which begins next week.

Yep. They may have played a few non-scrimmage games for which no outcome is available, but the 12-6 overall record listed on txhighschoolbaseball.com is the most accurate information I can find. They stumbled in their opening district game against a relatively poor West Brook team, but have won the rest of their district games since. They appear to have two powerhouses in district this year in 18-3 Barbers Hill and 14-1 Nederland, but they probably have a good chance of making the playoffs based on the records of the other district teams. Hopefully they will continue to improve as the season progresses.
