The Indians lost to South Houston in 1975 (the year we won state and we beat SH in bi-district or regionals that year--class of 1976)In 1976 (class of '77) we got beat by San Antonio Churchill for state at Rice Stadium. We had a boy playing and we were there both years (and many more).

The question was about undefeated regular seasons.

One more note of interest. Recognition must go to WO-S for ruining at least half a dozen other perfect regular seasons. Silsbee and Lincoln did the same in several other seasons.

1976 was a loss in the semi-finals not the state finals.

Sorry--you're right. We lost to San Antonio Churchill. So, we had a loss in 1976. Also, in 1977 we lost the state championship game to Plano so that was a loss, also. 1946 was undefeated and 1940 was undefeated, also, but that includes 2 ties.

Well, if I had plans to back away from my "Bold Prediction" I guess now would be the time to do so. It's not too late to take low, and there would be no shame in it; 9-1 is a great season! We are guaranteed at least a share of the district championship, right?! Haven't we already made the playoffs?! I guess now would be the best time to temper my "Bold Prediction" comments to lessen the sting of a possible shortcoming against Beaumont Central.

So... having said that let me say this...

10 and 0, here we go! Scalp ‘em Indians Scalp ‘em!
