Cherokee 1984

Good find. We had PN-G band members from the 1970s and 1980s visit the message board and comment that Cherokee under Directors Albert Long, Sammy Almany, and Karl Wadenpfhul was more uptempo (faster). At any tempo. PN-G's Cherokee sounds good to me, but I favor that louder and more uptempo version from the 1970s and 1980s. It sounded loud. Just my 0.02 cents.

I noted several differences in both the Cherokee and the Spirit Dance (the dance changed big time from 1977 to 2007)

I can still do the dance from the 70s the way the IS did it

My mom noted differences in the demeanor of the ISs since then when she attended a game in 2008
Which to me is ok you can’t expect the same thing from the student performers as you could back in the day
