Dave Campbell's - 2025 TXHSFB 5A Playoff Projections

Huntsville’s RB runs as hard as any high school back you’ll see this year. And he’s fast. Feed him the ball and control the clock.

Huntsville coaches would do well to review their offensive strategy. They did not help the Hornet cause last Friday by going away from their strength.
Agree. For what ever reason Huntsville did not attempt a balanced offense game strategy. One week the emphasis was on QB and passing and neglected the running game. Following week emphasis was on running game and QB passing was neglected. Up and Down offense game strategy.
Huntsville has the talent across the board but has yet to employ all their offensive weapons in a single game. Also, Time to get their “D1” ? TE involved in the offensive game plan this year.

Yes, but he was right about us not too long ago
One voted Richmond Randall.
The rest voted SOC.
I'd really like to beat SOC ths year and play somebody new for state championship.
I think Iowa Colony was up on Richmond Randle by 21 pts. Recovered several Randle fumbles. Then IC lost their focus. Maybe the second time will be a start to finish focus by Iowa Colony.

Its the coach. Southern was good. The current guy seems to be a quick, buddy hire because of how the situation unfolded... imo

That probably happens more often than people realize. And unfortunately mediocrity too often follows. In other situations, like PN-G, an intervention occurs to ultimately change that course and coaching destiny from average to great. Huntsville may have not been so fortunate.

I’m ready to say Huntsville’s not that good. After we played them I thought that if they cleaned up a few things they could win state. But they just leaned harder into what they were doing wrong. It puts a damper on our big comeback against them (though I think we get credit for showing how to stop them). Basically anyone better than Splendora can slow down their offense if you can get to the backfield. Nederland was playing fine against Huntsville except for turning the ball over. If you don’t make mistakes you can safely hold them to 21. And the defense didn’t develop how I thought it would. I think they have a shot against Marshall because Marshall has its own problems, but it’s a bad matchup. Marshall is capable of doing what needs to be done to stop Huntsville, and Huntsville doesn’t have a plan B.

I believe
WE broke their spirit and they were never the same
I saw in fighting all over the team
Finger pointing etc I bet they had fist fights the week after we beat them
We ruined them like we ruined FBM

They were SO HAPPY the first half of our games
This is the “vow” stage (my own amateur psychoanalysis lol)
Prior to the game they are unsure might talk trash but they’re unsure

First half they “made vows” (hard to explain)
They believed in themselves and built themselves up based on taking it to us
So then when we embarrassed them second half all those things they thought came crashing down hard
If they had not dominated us first half vows wouldn’t have been made until the game was “over” but we crushed them. They didn’t want to be on the team anymore in the backs of their minds.

Even a loss
Their vows could have been “we ll come back and see them in the playoffs etc”
But they broke their vows second half

Nah - They had these problems prior to playing us. The surprise was them doing so well in the first half. They just weren’t that good to begin with.

And it’s happened TIME AND TIME AGAIN idk what it is,First it was FBM then you could say Liberty hill who I believe orchestrated this whole moving us into the Dallas region in a attempt to make a run,Even though the emergence of Randall ruined that plan.Lake Creak also stumbled HARD after last years loss and then there’s Nederland’s historic fall from grace after beating us,I can go ON and ON we either crush spirits or we’re there Super Bowl no in between!

So, Huntsville may end up playing SOC; and we could end up playing Huntsville again, however slight chance that is. Just looking at the extremes.

Huntsville will be crushed by 11-0 Terrell. Terrell is a complete team with blazing team speed. Terrell will put 60 + points on them. I would like to watch the SOC vs Terrell game.

Yes I believe Terrell is our good odds to beat SOC I don’t believe Huntsville is ready for them
We are the most prepared for them of all.

When asking people on Smoaky they said Terrell will be 2 and done. Just FYI - that’s from fans in that area who know them
