Speaking of PN-G coaches, did PN-G get a new DC? If yes, is Coach Nelson staying? I hope so. He just needs more experience. Allow him to learn under a mentor. Just my thoughts.
Go Indians. Peace.
Hey Ya'llllllll! I'm back! Since Hurricane Laura, I have hardly any time to turn around and have sadly neglected the thing I LOVE...PNG zfootball. Heck, I only made 2 games this past year. Things have GOT to change soon!
anyone know about the DC this coming year?<Moved from other coaching discussion thread...>

Things have changed. If so he brings a ton of coaching experience with him
In talking to 15-25 coaches at several districts, Faircloth takes the top 12-15 athletes, they go on offense. DC gets what's left. I know Nelson is a great guy BUT does that explain why nobody with proven AND substantial results for 10-12 years got the job - or even applied? These DCs won't apply, what is left are young zero or little experienced guys. Another 600+ yards given up this year.Well...back to the drawing board...find a new DC. Bark, any news about who the next DC will be? Thanks. Go Indians. Peace.
I think that narrative is overblown. Faircloth had Austin Bost, Logan LeJeune, Trey Rembert (4-year starter), and several other outstanding athletes on defense. To say that all of the top athletes go to the offense is just wrong. I named three kids who were great athletes and they played defense. I wish PN-G would play the best 11 kids on offense, defense, and special teams. If that means kids play both ways or they never come off the field, then so be it.
I'm guessing the locals will make a push to get rid of Coach Faircloth after his son graduates in one or two years. If he is smart, he will move on that same year or before it happens. He is good enough to get another job and he has the education to move into admin, if he choses that path. When he leaves, we will see how good PN-G will be. I'm not convinced a top level HC coach will come to PN-G. Enrollment numbers for 9-12 have been stagnant or declining, PN-G is one of the smallest 5a-D2 schools in the district, Port Neches and Groves are landlocked, the oil & gas industry is undergoing change, crime in Groves is embarrassing, and the talent pool in the ISD is cyclical. Unless PN-G pays big bucks, top coaches are not going to apply. Faircloth plays an exciting brand of football. Change happens, but be careful what you ask for or what you do when change happens. You could be in for another era like 1984-1988.
Go Indians. Peace.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever. -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
