FINAL: PN-G 39, West Fork 7

A reminder to all that we do not make remarks that are overly critical of any individual. Inappropriate comments will not be tolerated. First and last warning.

PA Memorial beats Westbrook.
Anybody want to go 5A D1 just to bring back the old rivalries? Not me but just a curiosity.

For homecoming, any and all former Indian Spirits are welcome to attend and dance at halftime. I love it!!! I wish more would take advantage of the invitation. Just so you know the tradition never ends…it never fades for PN-G alumni, my mother has a video of her Class of 1965 reunion and the Indian Spirit for 1965, Mr. Jimmy Girouard, danced to Cherokee at age 80. He got a standing ovation and there were tears flowing all over the reunion. That’s TRADITION!

Wow!

He gets great separation. If he and Bailey gets their chemistry right, look out!
There are one or 2 of the receivers in particular, they're getting open and the ball is right there, but it's bouncing off their hands. Maybe it's focus, or they hear nearby footsteps coming; or maybe just taking their eyes off the ball like I do in golf. I'm hoping they will indeed get it all lined out.
There was a tall receiver on the '23 championship team that used to drop passes thrown right into his hands, but on the next play he'd make the most impossible catch, and I used to think it was because he didn't lose focus on the more crazy passes, but on the easy catches he'd run before catching the ball, as they say.

We all need to remember (me included) that these are 15 - 18 year old kids playing a fun game. There are days/nights when you have your mojo going and you are a superstar. On the flip side, there are days/night when you just don't have it. No one catches every pass...not even Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, or whoever your favorite WR might be. Not everyone makes the tackle and the other team makes big plays. These are still our Indians. We need to love them and focus on the positive. It's good times when you are 7-0, #3 in the rankings, and you win by 30+ points on your so called "off night." Stay positive, stay classy, love those coaches and kids. GO INDIANS!!!

My brother (class of 77) and I (79) see all the players, band, cheer, etc. and say to each other, we're we that young then!#?
And yes we thought we were bad ass then  but really they are so young.
BTW, Huntsville is still beat up pretty bad from our game.
Richmond Randall and SOC are ahead of us right now but we have 3 more tough games ahead of us to improve.

I'm waiting for the game where we put it all together for 48 minutes and we know it as a team and community. The sooner the better.

Ja’Marr Chase had a drop so bad vs the Steelers that had Flaco shocked. It indeed happens to the best of ‘em

The most nagging lifetime memories I have are from missing a tackle or a bad snap. I'll never forget them but that's what makes me who I am. PAIN matures us teaches us.

Overall solid outing but a truly believe the starters need to stay in longer I completely understand why we sit them trust me I do BUT every week we’ve started off really sloppy and after doing a bit of thinking I truly think that is apart of the problem. They need the Reps ESPECIALLY the WRs they should at least keep #10 in as long as possible he needs more targets and experience plus there’s not as much stress on him to make a play if we’re beating a team by 40. He’s an amazing athlete and he’s pretty much always open but his fundamentals need a lot of work but if he gets going he will be TERRIFYING for other teams to face!!!

OL looked like trash. QB got rushed too many times. Flat again as a whole, as a team. You can't pick n choose how bad ass you are. Yeah there's shitty teams mid district... but play them all the same. I get saving yourself for the playoffs, but there is something to be said about being in the moment. Ffs

OL is down they’re best player they are still adjusting to playing without him and I agree I think the last few weeks we’ve been playing down to our competition but if these are the Sloppy games than I can’t WAIT to see a fully put together PNG.

Stop playing down. What does that accomplish when you get to Area? Regional finals... aka State Quarter finals? Semis?

Not saying it’s right but it’s what’s happening BUT have you watched PNG football over the past few seasons like at ALL.Sloppy games happen it’s hard to keep literal high school kids 100% driven and disciplined all the time especially when playing teams you KNOW you’re gonna smack by 40, but as soon as the playoffs hit everything changes these kids know it’s win or go home they’ll play every week like it’s their last because it very well could be and these coaches will have them more than prepared!

and as I said in a previous post I think a ton of this coming out flat stuff has to do with having to rest the starters every single game most of the starters haven’t played a full game this SEASON even the Huntsville game was over midway through the third quarter but they can’t risk major injury to a key starter especially when you’re up by 30+ plus points by half time.

West Fork head coach Dougald McDougald is a good head coach and has probably selected a very good staff. And he has the luxury of 22 returning starters playing for him in 2025. Being a former PN-G Indian and state champion player (1975) coached by Doug Ethridge and staff, he knows a thing or two about PN-G football and everything about this school. I would guarantee that Coach McDougald had his team mentally prepared and aware that PNG players put their pants on just like the Gators do and that crowds don’t win games. And the WF staff studied film and tendencies and attacked when on defense. They were well prepared as evidenced by the TFLs on Henry. Well timed blitzes by design.

Good news is, on a night when not everything was well executed, the Indians still dominated. The PNG defense, especially Jaxon Winfrey was ferocious.

Congrats to Dougald McDougald on his return to Port Neches and having his team prepared and representing well. Just as you’d expect from a PNG alumnus.

Good homecoming win. Now it’s time to take care of some mid-county business.

Could tell PNG was missing the 1,2 punch with Diaz going out with what looked like a shoulder injury just from seeing them wrap an ice pack to the right shoulder. Good defensive spark by Newby with the pick 6. D continues to be the spark, few missed tackles from just trying to hit them hard and not wrap up. Special teams still needs work between bad snaps on FG/XP and KO coverage let a few break free. Overall didn’t let next week get ahead of them. These coaches will clean up the mistakes. Hopefully Diaz and the other injured players can return next week and finish off district strong
