FINAL: PN-G 49, Nederland 17

The news asked Jeff Joseph how he was going to too flying the trophy in next seasin at PNG if the game is there? His answer.... we are not we are just going to play fooitball.
Good answer, yes. As it should be. Let's not let this get out of hand.
However I'd like to fantasize about it just for fun. Anybody got any wild ideas?

I say make it as outrageous as possible

That’s how you get to be the biggest rivalry
And that’s how you get a$$3$ in seats
Big show

There’s no show without the business and there’s no business without the show

They tried to buy the rights to the game several years ago and both schools and communities said hell no

I think we should keep MCM focused on football. The helicopter was cool because it was the 100th year. That’s special. We cheapen the 100th year by trying to do something crazy every year after that. It’s not special unless it’s rare. And, if we try to top every year it gets totally out of hand and becomes a burden on the schools AND a distraction for the players. And then as the schools try to tone it down people will say the rivalry is losing its intensity. Let’s just keep the rivalry focused on the rivalry. It’s grown as big as it has and gotten this much attention simply by being about the rivalry. We didn’t even need a trophy. But, now that we have it we should keep it at that.

Just post a picture of the Bum Phillips trophy sitting in the PN-G trophy case next to all the state championship trophies for football, volleyball, baseball, the band's state championship recognition, and the recent championshp won by the PN-G Unified Track & Field Team with a caption in purple and white that reads...IT'S STAYING HERE WHERE IT BELONGS...PN-G, THE HOME OF CHAMPIONS!

IMO the helicopter was more silly than anything else and a waste of fuel and resources. They were trying too hard on that one to impress. Having Larry Neumann deliver it was the equivalent of Matt Burnett flying into Indian Stadium with the trophy. Notable coaches in the history of the program, and certainly upstanding men in the local communities, but so what. It would have only had significant meaning if Wade Phillips, representing the Phillips legacy, had flown in to deliver the trophy. But that’s just one fans opinion…

One low key idea is have notable former coaches and players appear in an interview format, including PN-G alumnus Wade Phillips, next to the trophy if possible, and share some thoughtful words that focus on the significance of playing in a long standing traditional game that honors Bum Phillips and represents their school and community. And most notable, have Wade describe what the communities, schools and teams meant to Bum Phillips. And maybe throw in some old action video of outstanding plays. All on the big scoreboard screen.
