FINAL: Port Neches-Groves 45, Beaumont United 7

I love this idea. Anything to involve more families in the game experience. It will make PN-G fans for life. Good job, PN-GISD and Coach Joseph.

So, for a couple of years all we heard was that woohoo lady and it was sickeningly annoying. But now we have someone that has one of those stupid horns.

PN-G 38
BU 0

2Q 2:38 until the half.

Looks like the coaching staff will empty the bench in the second half. The PN-G 2s, 3s and 4s will get plenty of action after the break.

PN-G 38
BU 7

3Q 6:49 with the clock running. Not sure I would have our 1st team in the game. Don't risk an injury. Empty the bench.

I saw it posted on Facebook that Stephen Jackson is in the stands tonight supporting his nephew.
Yes, we sat near him. I think he left at halftime or sat elsewhere. His nephew is big and fast, just needs more experience. He can be a legit downfield receiver with his size and speed.

Here’s my analysis lol team looks GREAT not to get ahead of myself but the Defense already looks much improved compared to last year tackling looks great secondary has improved etc, Offense still needs some help though O-Line looks a little weaker which makes sense with the loss of Jackson and the passing game is again struggling but I believe will improve definitely wanna see #10 get more involved. On to other news SOC looks very VERY scary with a CLOSE loss to Duncanville 28-35 in my opinion something definitely needs the change with them still being in 5ADII they are competing with not only the best teams in the state but the NATION at least move them up to 5ADI!On to Nederland's game dogs win in another Defensive bout 14-6,with the way PNG and the Dogs have looked MCM is looking to be a Blood bath can’t wait for that GO INDIANS!!

Another excellent game report! Thanks for sharing.

That is why I say imo all roads in the playoffs right now in 5A Division 2 will probably go thru SOC imo.

The defense came out swinging to start the game with great tackling, high energy, and excellent awareness on those tipped interceptions. Love seeing a unit that knows where the ball is at all times.

Offense had a slower start with little traction in the run game early on, and a few long pass attempts that just didn’t connect. But once we started feeding #6 Diaz, he really made an impact plowing through the line and picking up solid yardage. #35 Winfrey was flying around on defense, dude was everywhere. Major props to him for some great tackles.

Bailey settled in nicely after a couple series. He started making accurate throws and even pulled off a good run and slide. Great to see him gain confidence as the game went on. Shoutout to #8 Brisboe for stepping up this week with some solid catches, good to see the ball getting spread around.

Once we got up to 31, we went more conservative, but I respect that the players kept their intensity up. Penalties were kept to a minimum. The backups got a good amount of playing time in the second half and played hard.

Beaumont United never really got anything going. Their QB had a rough night, and those multiple delay-of-game penalties made it clear there was some confusion on their sideline. Looked like plays were getting in late and players were unsure of where to be.

Overall, a strong showing from PNG. We handled business like we were supposed to. Looking forward to next week and seeing this team continue to sharpen up. Go Indians!
