FINAL: Port Neches-Groves 55, Texas City 23

PNG defense is not thinking about what they should do and losing a step. PNG defense players are swarming to the play/ball.

Now need OL run blocking to improve.
Offensive Play calling gave up 8 points. Short passes short passes. QB under center push push at your own one yard line. 2022 title game momentum turned on a SOC safety.
Yeah, I was definitely having flashbacks about those two safeties in the '22 title game when they ran that play against TXC. It made absolutely no sense to call those plays on both occasions. The next time the OC tries that, I wish somebody would stand up and say "STOP!"

Lots of my ancestors buried there in Shelbybille
Mine to. My property is out near the Boles field close to Sample cemetery. Though my family is not in that one altleast that I'm aware of. They are in Center Ridge out of Shelbyville and Strong cemetery.

We ain't going anywhere in the playoffs, much less MCM, without a decent run game.
In the two weeks of the open date you saw the significant improvement in the PNG defense. The PNG Offense first three series against TC were negative plays. OC had two weeks to script a play series against their weaknesses. What if TC offense had not self destructed in the first Q?

Yeah, my hope is that they (offense staff) simply aren't showing anything until MCM. But really, you have to have basics; at least consistently gain 3 or 4 yards on a dive play. Nederland does that. Hardin, WOS, LaPorte, Silsbee, all of last Friday's winners do this.

After six games and an Open date you are what you see on the Hail Mary Offensive play calling and OL execution in the running game.

Open date OC Offense focused on “gadget” plays moving Ashworth around playing QB, RB, HB/TE and WR. Gohlke QB, RB, and WR. What about focusing on OL run blocking technique improvement?
Still can’t run right with OL. Procedure penalties on center continues? Old saying don’t ignore in victory what you would correct in defeat.
Looking at a second place finish and playing a Montgomery Lake Creek versus a New Caney West Fork.
Seems Season is “flying by” after so many “offensive restarts” following each game. Appears PNG Defense will be the Identity of this team going forward.
