Future Practice Facility

Construction plans could include a staged planning phase approach towards a final enclosed facility with climate control. Once the benefit of the initial facility has been documented for bad weather conditions across all sports, band, graduation student parent activities then parents (voters) more likely to endorse future improvement investments to complete the final phases. Auditorium improvements versus a first class facility?

Bus barn investment sounds like a business opportunity to outsource to a third party for a Midcounty wide bus barn servicing center instead of individual district private ownership.

Just brain storming.
This is what all the districts in my home county do and there’s like 23 ISDs
(I believe)
Slight correction
They share (things like) purchasing, fuel, servicing etc for some of the districts but the bigger ones have their own storage etc

Not likely that the two mid-county districts would share a parking and maintenance facility. PN-G taxpayers are paying for it. Not to mention that Port Neches residents would not like all that extra Nederland bus traffic moving down a core city corridor. (Magnolia, Nall, etc).

Anyone know details on what will go into the old, to be renovated, bus maintenance building? I’ve heard some info on that but am curious if it’s public yet. Or what is known to the public.
The current bus maintenance shop will be the future home of the weight room and training rooms. Basically an all purpose training facility. The current weight room will be repurposed as a larger locker room, team meeting rooms, and an officials locker room.

At nearly 3x the size of the current weight room, the new training building will allow more capacity and equipment. THIS is the bigger difference maker than the covered field. With both, the athletic programs will better reach potential.

Incredible. Even better than what I thought was being done. While we the fans have been talking about covered vs. enclosed buildings, I suspect that the overall plans for all the athletic upgrades are going to be incredible and even better than anyone imagined.

This idea would be somewhat controversial, and possibly a non-starter because of city or county laws. But there would be a lot of benefit to shutting off Park Street between New St. and Ave G. For the purpose of enabling safe passage between the campus side which will have the training facility, and the other side with the covered field. If automated, closeable gates were used it could be opened during hours where no athletic activities are occurring. And closed during school hours and after school practices. Including game days. Or manually closed when the facilities will be in use. Traffic can still flow along Merriman, Dearing and Main for N-S traffic. Access to nearby homes and the field house would not be blocked.IMG_6511.jpeg
