Huntsville @ PN-G

44:55 is the starting point. Agree that this is the best offense. I disagree on the defensive assessment. Most may disagree but this defense is very good, is improving and will be great before the season ends. The pieces are there with every bit of potential as '23 and, yes, become the best defense yet in the Joseph/McDaniel machine.

Tip of the cap to Huntsville's radio team. They do a nice job with the Huntsville Coach's Show. They focus on their kids and highlight the good things that their kids are doing. Good job Huntsville radio team.
I have often wondered what it would take to get something going like this for PNG. We know the content would be consumed and the sponsors would be there to support.

Part me feels like, and I mean this in the most complimentary way possible, that Joseph wouldn't be interested. As much as he is a supportive of the traditions and team culture, he seems in my experience to be almost anti-ego. He will do an interview when expected or necessary but never goes out of his way to be in the media. There is no talk the talk, ONLY walk the walk. Lol. Not trying to imply all the coaches with a pod are "big headed" only that I think the Prez of the Rez would prefer to spend his time at the strategy table rather than the microphone.

I definitely don’t disagree with you. But, a show/podcast talking about the team, player interviews, teacher spotlights, etc could be fun. Could even include other sports possibly.

I have also considered a southeast Texas football podcast, talking about football around the area. How nothing has been created like this yet is crazy to me. As much as people eat football up around here I feel like it would be very successful. Just haven’t found the right people to make it happen.

I hear ya. We certainly need a Golden Triangle/ 409 HS Sports show. As a region we consistently have multiple teams ranked in the top 10 across multiple sports. Definitely agree that starting with player interviews by NDN Press could be fun.

Totally understandable.
It's more than enough for a coach to deal with the players and the coaches. Then add parents which can be a madhouse alone. Then add local news, DCTF, etc.
Then think about a local grassroots media group... well I'd really like to know what the coaches and NDN press think of this.
Whatever they want is fine by me including nothing.
What exactly are we wanting?
I like what I see at LaPort, Huntsville.
Something that is beloved by the community. Like LaPort especially.

Alright guys, who has got one of those golden radio voices? Can we do it on a zoom call like some of the other shows? Live from the Avenue Axe? I agree it would be awesome to have a show like LaPorte's; that's top tier.

I tried to download and past the Podcast from Tepp and Stepp today but I can't paste MP3 here. If you are subscribed, go listen to their podcast starting at the 45 minute mark. Very high praise for the Indians today.

Good idea to do Zoom from the Tomahawk/ Avenue Axe to get things started.
Once we get some good partiscipation we can figure out more details.

Oh I heard that some teams play our Tomahawk Chop song over and over again to get their players ready. Lol

We always used to say…You may not remember your fight song, but we’re gonna make sure you NEVER forget ours!! :p

22 season
Dominated by PAM who was not fantastic that season lost to FBM and it wasn’t competitive
Beat TC, Dayton, by 7
Barely beat Nederland made a game winning drive with under 2:00 (playoffs would have been iffy) struggled early against Brenham in playoffs LBJ by only 5 FBM by 8 in a nail biter and first ever victory against them BUT we were getting better every week and woulda coulda (maybe not shoulda) won the SC that year

23
Lost to PAM (lost first round of playoffs 44-7) barely beat WOS in OT (who went 4-7 (3-3 district in 4Adii)
Beat FBM 7-0 could have turned on one or two plays
Beat Nederland 41-40
Beat LC by 3 didn’t look great late (LC was #1 yes) struggled a bit vs Huntsville in NRG
let LH cut victory to 7 pts late
Played a near perfect game vs SOC

That’s my argument that this is the best team at this point in the season in this era we’ve pretty much dominated KO and ranked LP who some are still choosing to play for the SC at least
And it doesn’t get more dominant than a decent LC team we made them look bad but they’re not a bad team they had no first downs until 2:00 left in the 3rd Q when we had some subs in
That’s hard to do vs the JV

Winfrey is the M Droddy of this year (from 22)
Our defense is swarming again and the offense is better than any of the aforementioned years with Roschon it’s a different story but we had to score 72 vs Crosby lol wow of course he’s the best player of this era imagine if he had this defense behind him.

I agree with your assessment. If we are fortunate to win the Huntsville game and suffer no major injuries, we can expect our HC and his staff to rest key players in the Splendora and West Fork next two games like last year. Could set numerous individual records but at the expense of not allowing our future athletes the game time experiences in front of their families.

Appreciate the school board and administrators allowing a large number of young athletes, band, indianettes, cheer leaders to travel. Other teams have trimmed back travel and cut back participation. PNGISD is all about creating as broad as possible positive student experiences.

Other opponent team coaches are trying to keep their support and jobs during lean years. These 70+game scores benefit no one and hopefully come back to haunt the perpetrator.

As a fan would get annoyed during the 1974-1977 Ethridge years once the score reached 28 points. it was run between the tackles and control the clock. I feel it paid dividends with good will from other district fans coming out to support PNG in the playoffs. Difficult to wear your team colors in the playoff stands if your community and team was humiliated during the season.

I agree 3 -scores

This is the best team we’ve had in this era at this point in the season including the 22-23 teams (at this point)
This is a Joseph
