Didn't Huntsvilles starting QB get injured? Weren't they starting a freshman in the Nederland game? Was QB1 back for SOC game? If not, SOC played a different Huntville team.
Freshman QB is an outstanding dual threat. Better runner than the senior QB who was injured. Went to the SOC vs Huntsville game. Standing in line talking to Huntsville fans before the game in my purple pride. They felt the team was doing better with the change in QB. Problem was WRs couldn’t catch a pass.

The winning strategy is also basically the same as during the TH game. Keep it fairly close during the first half, wear them down with an effective run game and timely passes, and put them in an unfamiliar position where we have consistently found a way to win during the Joseph era. The main difference between this game and the TH game (which was also true during both SC games vs SOC) is that we may not be able to afford to have any turnovers or other major mistakes in this game.
Concur. 2022 PNG led most of the game. SOC was sleep walking through the game. Then PNG tried to pass out of their end zone and QB was sacked for a safety. PNG Kicked off from our 20 yd line. SOC scored a TD on a short field. SOC exploded with emotion with the momentum change. The game’s momentum swung on that play call resulting in a safety.

He gave no reason. Which is saying something I think.
Latest DCTF Podcast they (Greg Tepper and Matt Stepp) gave each other one last chance this week to change their predictions for state champs in each division. Greg had to flip since TH loss. Greg says game will be close and PNG is 13-1 in one score games.

Matt Stepp is still stating Christian Jackson is a Texas A&M commitment? Stepp says PNG lost two of their front three down linemen and defense is not as strong. #94 and #49 are back. Do your homework.

Yeah, my Huntsville cousin said the issues they had in that game have been a repeated problem all season. Eliminate those things and I think they could’ve beaten SOC, or made it a much closer game.
I’m sure all the “Rah-Rah” stuff gets annoying BUT I REALLY think the 12th man could be a BIG factor…ESPECIALLY in this game because other than the State Championship, I doubt SOC ever has to deal with much crowd noise…so let’s BE LOUDER and ROWDIER than EVER!!
Let’s hope the PA Music and Announcer are gagged. No PA interference with snap counts. Officials have authority to put a stop to that.

Stepp is out of step with the facts.

Don’t forget the bad pass that was a pick 6 for SOC. That was the nail in the coffin.

I watched the SOC vs Longview game from early in the season. SOC won late in the game. Their offense depended on a lot of short passes counting on the receivers to break a couple of tackles, and make a larger gain. Offensive line was big, but not overly athletic. Defense was susceptible to the inside running game. They did not appear to me to be overly aggressive on either side of the ball. In my opinion, if we play like last week and eliminate mistakes, we will win. Just my unofficial 2 cents.

1000% agree. Play hard like last week minus the mistakes and we win this one.

I hope both coaches did their due diligence. SOC is still holding a grudge over that ref.
But yet - that coach has said SPECIFICALLY that he wants “inner city” refs.

What’s the freakin difference?! Do “inner city” kids get a pass for certain things?! Not trying to stir it up - just stating absolute facts.

The 'refs' are an old, tired and false accusation.

Two photos that tell the true story of that '22 game. Let it go Clifton.

1) 'The Call' - Defensive holding of the receiver. Flag thrown.

2) Holding all night long by multiple players wearing purple gloves, sleeves, etc. meant to hide it. Allowed by the refs. ALL.. NIGHT... LONG.

In addition to all of the factors that have already been mentioned, it will be particularly critical that we execute well when we get close to the red zone. Last year we were able to keep the game close by making four field goals when things got tough in this area, but needless to say the odds of repeating that feat this year are not very high.

Went back and watched the same game and you’re 100% right except two things lean in our favor we are MUCH bigger than Longview and we have better coaching! Another thing is yes SOC has a big O-line but they are very slow at times and seem to get worn out quick if you put a lot of pressure on them.

They should prepare to be worn out then.

So today has been interesting:
DeSoto got stomped,
Allen lost,
La Port lost,
Richmond Randall not yet started.
Some big names are getting upset.
This weekend is upset weekend.
State championships might be most interesting.
