PA News article about a statue for the Indians

Wonder were they would put such a thing??? At the entrance to the stadium maybe?

It could be inside the school building, or the 'patio' area for optimal viewing by students, and maximum protection from the crazies out there. Or in/near the stadium so that the public see it.

How about behind the flag poles in the south end of the stadium? Or near the main stadium entrance?

This would be a great location. Behind a fence but yet easy to view by home fans walking into the stadium, and for visiting fans to see from a distance. Same concepts as The University of Houston's planned Legends Plaza at their new stadium.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that when the City of Port Arthur deeded that land to the City of Port Neches in 1947, it came with a stipulation that the land could only be used for public purposes and could not be privately developed.

So where are they planning to rebuild the softball fields? Any discussion of that? State of the art fields should be built for those kids, and future generations of softball players.

It would have been great to hang onto that land for future ISD and/or city needs?

At one time, back in the 70s, that land was being proposed as the site for a new stadium.

Who would want to purchased a luxury home with refinery right across the street?

That's another thing I don't understand. I was under the impression that greenbelt laws wouldn't allow residential development there.

In talking to a County Official there is usually a loop hole to allow for squirming. Right thing is to leave/replace fields and use the $$$ for the IF building, any word on our money they have captive? No, I didn't think so. As far as bidding, well I did not discuss it with him I can't imagine high end homes a rock throw from the most cancerous producing refineries in the world. That's why they demoed Widows Row, butadiene exposure and the law suit by the 12 or so students that got lymphoma from those low life, cancer causing plants.

Will they use a Relator to do the sale? If so, who?

Whatever happened with the statue that was going to be on campus?

And the sale of softball fields as mentioned.

And will Bark ever return. Good guy.

That was all back in 2015. Time flies.

If I remember correctly I think I know one person who was part of the whole statue process. Though I have not talked to them in many many years, I am not even sure if they are still around. I will enquire though. Ill ask a administrator Monday.
