PN-G Football - Defensive Points Allowed

That team was indeed good and ranked in the top 10 all year. ‘72 was Jeff Bergeron’s senior year. He gained 1465 yards rushing in 10 games that season. Unfortunately Kenny Washington had a better game in their matchup and led the 5th ranked Bees to a win over the #3 ranked Indians and a district championship in a time when only the district championship made the playoffs.
Recall PNG was leading game in the 4th Q. Lincoln had ball around their Own 20 yd line. Kenny Washington threw an incomplete pass on third and long and PNG was called for roughing the QB. Lincoln went down the field to score the go ahead TD.
Previous year Lincoln and Joe Washington should have won state but Joe was injured in the playoffs. In that previous year Joe vs Jeff game. Jeff was playing safety late in the 4th Q trying to protect a lead. Joe broke through line of scrimmage opposite side Jeff was playing. Jeff ran him down from behind had a bad starting angle and tackled him around the PNG 15 yd line after a ~50 yd gain. What could’ve should’ve moments in history.
