100%So much for UT’s #1 ranking. A poor outing by overrated and overhyped Arch Manning did them in with two interceptions.
Congrats to Sandell.
Yes to this. In Fact two yesses to this. This also happens on a smaller scale in Texas high school football. Players are bought and moved to these super schools to stack a team to win state every year. A team graduates 10 D 1 recruits and miraculously they have 10 more the next year. Then every year after that with no drop off. It’s all about who can buy the best players now. Then it’s about having a talented coaching staff that can teach, motivate 18-22+ year olds and game plan.
In my opinion UT has a tendency for signing too many players that lack characteristics that make up great players and teams. Too much individualism.
This! And Sarks poor play calling, IMO.The Manning kid was made out to be a legend before he even earned that designation. And he halfway believed it. Throwing for a lot of yards in high school against questionable competition does not qualify. As much as he reaches for that level, it doesn’t seem to be there. At least not yet. He can sling the football, but he makes poor decisions at the worst times. And too many bad throws.
Yeah. What are the odds. We all know. It is not the same as the teams that do well year in and year out in spite of not having 10 D1 recruits.Yes to this. In Fact two yesses to this. It seems that more often than not these coaches outsmart nobody but themselves.Truth is it’s tough to win big every year at any level. We high school fans get chippy when our teams don’t play perfectly. But even the highly paid NIL and NFL teams make mistakes and lose too often. Perfect examples are the Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies and Dallas Cowboys. All three with incredible resources. All three looked like a team of boneheads led by clueless coaches this week.
No question he was overhyped, but imo he still has enough talent to be much better with better coaching and play calling. The play calling does not seem to take his strengths and weaknesses into account and he repeats too many of the same types of mistakes without effective correction. The Manning kid was made out to be a legend before he even earned that designation. And he halfway believed it. Throwing for a lot of yards in high school against questionable competition does not qualify. As much as he reaches for that level, it doesn’t seem to be there. Go Tate!!!By the way predictions say Sandell will be drafted next draft if he keeps it up as high as possibly the 5th round Giving PN-G 2 players in the NFL. I can only guess that may be a first. He is considered the best kicker in all of college football by many. He won the best kicker in all of football last season. Finishing as the #1 kicker last year.
PN-G Indians (3-3)
vs.
Dayton Broncos (2-4)
