    Booster Club Membership Drive

They said that last night's game is being hailed as one of the best in Texas high school baseball history on the announcements this morning. Seems like we have a history of "best" games here at PN-G.

    Booster Club Board Members

That's what I like to hear. This district is poised for a turnaround in all of its departments and I think that our new football program is going to be the "reagent" to get the "reaction" going, if you will. The next few years are going to be fun for PN-G, district-wide. I think we're going to...

Championships and finals appearances in all sports

There are some banners in the Competition Gym at the high school that honor past State Championship Rock-A-Noo (sp?) teams. I believe they are '72, '78, '79, '81, and '82, but I could be wrong.

    Tepee for new Indian Stadium

That's exactly what I was thinking. If we could get permission to do that, we'd turn what is essentially an eyesore into a symbol of community spirit and something that our students, K-12, can remember and be proud of. This idea needs to be taken to the school board.

    Indian Stadium Renovation

It was approximately $9.5 Million out of a $120 Million (approximately) bond. We're also getting two new middle schools and some much-needed, major renovations at the high school.

    Tepee for new Indian Stadium

I'd love to see that happen. Maybe we don't need to just limit it to the art classes. Let's make it a school-wide... no, district-wide effort.

Unless you throw in some red and call it a volunteer project. :)

    Indianette Fundraiser Tonight 7:30???

$3 is a lot better than any movie theater, the concession stand is open, and it's a fundraiser for our school's extra-curricular activities. Granted, the range of viewable movies is limited because it's still a school function, and the movies are played weeks, months, or even years after they...

Vote on Your Favorite Tempo for Cherokee

Indianettes, yes, although the limit has been raised since they have started marching. Band, no. However, like in all extra-curricular activities, grades and drug tests affect the number of members who actually participate.

    Indianette Fundraiser Tonight 7:30???

Yes, it's open to everyone. Admission is $3 (Even though I said $5 earlier. Sorry.) and the concession stand will be open.

Vote on Your Favorite Tempo for Cherokee

I didn't notice this until just now, but there's a problem with the examples listed beside the speeds. The speed of the recorded Cherokee (the one that IndianFan posted) is approximately 120 bpm. The 1999 Brazosport game is about 100 bpm and the current Cherokee varies between 100 and 120 bpm...

Mr. Wells speaks on the tempo of Cherokee.......

What? Yeah, I agree. Cherokee sounds terrible when the loudest voice out there is the woodwinds. No offense, woodwinds, but you just have to have a strong percussion and a strong brass. That's why I'm so glad that the bulk of those new members next year are trumpet and trombone players and...

Mr. Wells speaks on the tempo of Cherokee.......

I happen to know that Mr. Wells keeps an eye on this site. There's no need to print it out. He already knows. Again, he specifically told the drum majors to keep the tempo at 120+ bpm. Again, this proves that he does listen to the fans and that your e-mails have been heard. 120 bpm is probably...

Mr. Wells speaks on the tempo of Cherokee.......

Yes, it did sound good inside. It was also fast. Tempo doesn't change with a move from inside to outside. Again, it had more to do with the drum majors than the band directors at the pep rally. Cherokee was played at a good tempo at Indian Spirit Tryouts. As I also said earlier, the brass and...

Mr. Wells speaks on the tempo of Cherokee.......

This isn't a new thread. You may want to look at the date on the first post. Could it be that the idea of firing the band director for this incident is a blatant overreaction? As I said earlier, it was at a nice tempo and a nice volume at Indian Spirit Tryouts, and the administration almost...

Mr. Wells speaks on the tempo of Cherokee.......

As I said earlier, I think last night's incident had more to do with the drum majors then it did Mr. Wells.

Mr. Wells speaks on the tempo of Cherokee.......

It was faster at the Indian Spirit Tryouts. Read my post under the "Big Spring Events You May Want To Attend" thread.

Big Spring Events You May Want To Attend

The best anyone can do is continue to contact the administration and band directors. It was slower this evening, but I honestly think that it had more to do with the drum majors then it did the directors tonight. They counted us off slowly for some reason. Hopefully, it will be taken care of by...
