FINAL: PN-G 49, Dayton 7

SOC is built for a rematch with Richmond Randle. If SOC is going through the motions, Montgomery, PN-G, and/or Texas High have a small chance to win. If SOC is amped up they way they were for PN-G last year, then no one in Region 2 will beat SOC and we will have a rematch between SOC and RR. Chief Jeff Joseph and Matt McDaniel are the best in the business when it comes to squeezing the clock and crunching the game into a few key possessions. I would line-up with our coaches and kids 100/100 times. But, when a team recruits and brings in an NCAA OL and defense, the PN-G coaching staff can only do so much with homegrown talent vs. recruits. GO INDIANS!!!!
Just remember they also control their enrolment to stay within the threshold of Dll and not Dl , A form of DEI working a different way.

I fundamentally disagree with anyone who is monetizing high school sports for substantial financial profit. If a school is capable of broadcasting, leave them alone. UIL and whatever entity used to be able to claim that they were bringing the game to the people. But no longer the case. NDN Press and other high school media efforts are more than capable. UIL and DCTX are all about making the money and arranging the game to their benefit. Where is the integrity.

High school football was successful long before DCTX came about. Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine was great, but they didn’t try to control playoff games or the sport. The communities, schools and fans own the game, not some media company.

Next target may be the regular season games.
you need to argue the legal precedents to the courts that it is part of the public school curriculum an extension of journalism classes to teach a broadcasting skill set to prepare a student for a future career in public broadcasting. public opinion would go against the UIL. Sounds very familiar to past NCAA using college athletes images to turn a profit. state legislators are not going to support legislation for the UIL over their voting constituents. There appears to already be legal precedents in my mind to proceed whether it’s the NCAA or the UIL regarding profiteering from the sweat and toll of student athletes regardless of the educational level. Not a lawyer but maybe someone is out there. Always follow the money trail to find the purse holders.

At least a couple of excellent attorneys here and PNG alumni. Probably not media and entertainment attorneys though.

The Legislature may resolve this issue next session, and that is the most viable option.

For now, the best thing y’all can do is to contact the offices of Senator Bryan Hughes (R-Minneola) and Representative Cole Hefner (R-Mt. Pleasant) to let them know that:
  • PN-G fans support the reintroduction of 89(R) SB 2511 and 89(R) HB 4375 in the upcoming 90th Regular Session; and
  • PN-G fans will advocate for the bills’ passage when they’re reintroduced.

Do either of those bills address transfers?

After it’s all said and done, and the Indians took the 49-7 win convincingly, it’s important to recognize and commend the Dayton Broncos on a valiant effort. They entered the game with two important players injured and unable to play. PN-G is a better team this year. But we have not seen the last of great Dayton teams. They are going to be a tough opponent over the next few years.

Dayton has always been an impressive community and program. They support their teams well. They also have one of the best bands you’ll see. Kudos to the Dayton Broncos and community.

Ok so I'm old and slow. When the roving camera zooms in on folks they move their arms up and down, with palms facing up, like they're juggling. What's the deal?
When someone says
6-7 you do that
And they’ve got kids of all ages doing it
I first discovered it on South Park and thought they were making it up but apparently a sports person (maybe basketball) did that and now they have 3 year olds doing it and they think they’re getting one over on us adults
But it doesn’t “mean” anything according to what I’ve been informed by a teen
They enjoy being a part of something we’re not lol
But if you notice they don’t call the kicker “sixty seven” they say 6-7 out to attempt the kick.

Play calling has killed PN-G drives deep in Dayton territory 2x tonight. That will get you beat @ Texas High and get you humiliated @ SOC. SMH.

See??!!!! I’ve been saying that! But “politically” that makes me the bad guy. I don’t care about your feelings, I care about results - hate me if you wanna….

You’re a good guy 15. And we don’t care about playing politics here. Everyone has a take. I hope we all care about what the other thinks and feels here amongst fellow PN-G Indians. I’ve found that with my own negative reactions to something that goes wrong, there is usually a balanced positive to the negative thought. It’s a good thing when someone can find the silver lining. Overall this PNG team and season is incredible. I think this team is the best yet. Each week holds the hope that it can and will keep getting better. We could all do much worse than having this team to back.
