I am prepared to lose my voice!!

10000000% agree with this. While watching some of the videos of them before they were scrubbed from youtube, this makes the most sense. I would rather them get it on the 40 yard line and trust our defense to stop them than to kick it to one of their talented guys in the backfield that can return it for a TD.
Probably the one game where we should all LOVE the pooch kick.

Does anyone know if TH is used to playing in front of a PNG sized crowd
We played Texas High during Faircloth’s last year. They have seen PNG. Plus, PNG doesn’t travel as well as in years past. Neither our home game vs Hallsville nor the Kaufman game at West Fork were anywhere close to PNG sellouts. People must be watching on NDN Press or Texan Live.

Or just getting too old like me. Spirit is high but body, not so much. Reality check.

Best way to go is pull your own hotel room/house with you. But it can be more difficult to find a place with full hookups to park it than finding a hotel room.

It’s true PNG fans don’t travel like they did back in the day but they still show up WAY better than ANY other fan base!! Except for maybe the first couple rounds, our crowds during the playoffs have been on ANOTHER LEVEL the last 2 years…most were sellouts or close to it!! However, that’s mainly because we didn’t have to travel more than 1-2 hours except for the State Championship so I’m sure we’ll see smaller crowds this year being in Region 2 unfortunately.

Take a look at their indoor facility. Nice.

Does anyone know what TH fan base is like?
Mostly the locals (people who live NEAR the stadium) and parents.
Back in the day
Texas High v Arkansas High was like MCM
But they haven’t played in years due to continuing violence in the week preceding it

It’ll be mostly parents of band and players
They don’t travel like Pleasant Grove
Probably average

And why I like the idea of Wuenschel in the backfield as often as possible. A big power back who can gain the tough yards in heavy traffic which the Indians don’t have otherwise. We need to pick up every first down and eat that clock.

It’s usually pretty good student support
For years the stadium area was about like going to Third Ward in Houston
It’s a lot better now
Funny story there was a mentally handicapped guy who walked the streets (long story but his parents were brother and sister and also “handicapped”)
He would go up and down fast food restaurant strip (New Boston Rd) and “begged” for money and food
Well
He would find a little place with grass and charge people $5 for parking lol
He was the most street wise guy ever
He would ask for money and we would ask for change for a $20 and he’d pull out a huge wad of cash lol
Texas High has been on 4 different campuses over the years (me, my mom, and grandfather all went to 3 different campuses) well, the stadium is still at the “Grim School” location. (And believe me it used to describe it well haha)(named after Grim last name not adjective)
TXK is the most backward and strange place you’ll ever go
Makes Port Arthur look like heaven
And then on the other hand its old money and rural. Sort of like mix PA and HF

Then PG is Lumberton

This TH team almost reminds me of PNG with RJ LETHAL offense but a struggling defense. They are definitely beatable but the Nederland game kinda throws me off cause I at least expected the dogs to put up somewhat of a fight!

Something to remember about Nederland. The Bulldogs had a 4+ hour bus ride to that game. The Tigers had a thirty minute drive or less from the house. Very different than this situation where both teams will be making a 2-3 hour trip.
