The playing deck is stacked for these metro areas teams with enrollment above the classification they play in, or that have open enrollment for a huge pool of players to unfairly field a team. One town schools that fit the intended mold are at a huge disadvantage. Get it right UIL!

That’s where you have an automatic rivalry game second or third game of the season just like OU UT was and Texas High Arkansas high was every year

SOC will be tested in the 2nd and 3rd round of the playoffs. Montgomery in the 2 round and the winner of Marshall / Terrell in the 3rd round.

Liberty Hill should be moving up to 5A D1 so expect a move back to Region 3 for PN-G. Liberty Hill admins made sure we were in Region 2 last realignment.

Longshot, but there is talk 5A DII could drop the lower number to 1250. If that happens that brings Lumberton and Vidor possibly back into 5A.

If that happened you could see a possible district of.... Likely a very low chance they drop numbers that far though.

The UIL snapshot enrollment #’s has Randle with 2021, which is the same as PAM so it’s pretty much a certainty that they’ll be 5ADI next year. I expect the UIL will move us back to Region 3 since the Directors son who plays for Liberty Hill is graduating this year

I think it would be good for the fans, though. Playing local teams made up of your friends’, family’s and coworkers’ kids gives more reason to show up, not to mention the easier travel.

Nederland already plays 4A Lumberton, West Orange, and Silsbee in the preseason. Those could become district games in the future. Nederland would need new preseason opponents like PNG.

Teams that drop down in classification do not always become the powerhouse you expect in the lower classification.

New high school opened up diluting Liberty Hill district enrollment one reason Liberty Hill HC left for a 4A school.

A guy I talked to from SOC told me they are down a bit this seasin.

SOC “recruited” their current QB from Houston Heights. SOC won the 5AD2 Seven on Seven this year.
