What an embarassment....

I have it on good authority that the "responsibilities and duties of the head football coach" is on the agenda for the upcoming board meeting on Tuesday night.

Too bad the meeting doesn't include an opportunity to include the board's part in a lot of this as MightyNDNS was pointing out in his previous post, but since the board doesn't allow an open public forum I guess it won't happen. And let me elaborate so that I might not be corrected by others on here, you must have previously asked and received permission (be added to the agenda) to have the privilege to speak to the board. There can be no public discussion from the floor.

BTW,I'm very proud of our current players who have gotten on here and voiced their opinions. Their's matter more than any of ours. Just as the expression goes regarding throwing the baby out with the bath water, we've thrown the program out with the stadium.

LOL...I didn't realize they are some sort of demi-gods that one needs to have permission to speak to them. Sounds very democratic (with full sarcasm) ...and to think that they depend on your votes to get them on the board...What a farce!!!

What do you base that on? How is the new stadium responsible for a football program that needs to be improved. If nothing else it should help.

you can speak at the meeting.. just voice your opinion, this is a free country and one of our rights is freedom of speech, you may get escorted out but at least you say your part, trust me on this, the media will hear you!

Just checked the board agenda and it is the last item on the agenda.

http://www.boardbook.org/apps/bbv2/public/detail_wrapper.cfm?MeetingKey=MjAwMjE5NzQ%3D

That discussion will hopefully address the concern with the middle school teams receiving the proper instruction. Also possibly reviewing the high school staff and making sure it's optimized. I agree with a lot of people who have said the same thing. Bring in a new OC and allow the offensive line coach to refocus on that duty. And build up the middle school programs to make sure they're in synch with the high school program. Back in the old days that was a strength of the program.

I don't know how long the meetings usually last, but it looks like they may or may not get to it.

I come in from another school district and this was normal procedure for our school board meetings as it was with other ISDs in our area. It is also normal procedure for speaking before any city council.

I can't attend, but anyone on here going to make it?

I wonder if they bothered to let him know or just posted on the website for everyone to see...I thought about going but I got so mad at the last meeting I attended, that I had to leave. It is too frustrating to sit there and listen to them discuss stuff and you can't say anything. Urhhhh!!!!

I agree, but am I missing something?? Didn't people have a chance last year to change 3 board members and replace them with people who are more proactive? There was lots of talk back then about changing, but when it came right down to it, they voted in the same old members. Go figure?????

Maybe there was a :cough cough: "problem" with the voting machines ::rolls eyes::

Sometimes, those machines have a mind of their own. ;D

I think people SAY they want change but are too scared or whatever to actually VOTE for change. JMHO

Then IMHO those people have no right to complain if they won't voice their preference at the polls.

A friend went to vote and before entering the polling location, she was met with some of the people that were running against the incumbents and was handed literature about the candidates - the normal stuff.. She was told, once she entered the polling location, that she had to put "that stuff" away and out of sight. Yet, the incumbents pictures hung right above the ballots as they voted!!!! If it had been me that this was said to - I would have said " I will gladly put these items away as soon as you take those pictures down"!!!!
