I got an odd feeling PNG, Nederland, Dayton is going to be tossed in district with Montgomery, Lake Creek, Huntsville, Brenham, and Bryan Rudder. Bidistrict will be FB Marshall, FB Willowridge, Lamar Consolidated, Richmond Randle, Texas City, Santa Fe, Galena Park

That would be a similar situation to our current district in terms of the playoff hunt. Five teams consistently vying for four spots.

Today’s Brenham isn’t the Brenham we remember from ten years ago. Still good, but not a consistent state championship contender anymore. When we beat them in baseball on the way to the state title back in 2017, I enjoyed rubbing it in a few faces among friends in the Texas Senate. Aside from beating a few Austin area schools, there’s nothing I’d love more than to do that every year.

Way too much travel. Imagine the additional expense and travel time needed. And out of town fan attendance will be a challenge.

Brenham is similar to PNG in terms of ups and downs over time but with more consistent success in the last few decades. They've been pretty consistent for 20 years with their best teams every decade or so. A definite upgrade for the district over Barbers Hill and a tough contender.

It's not possible because of population disparity but I wish for the good old days of 'local' teams being in the same district.

Having Dayton, Crosby and Barbers Hill in the district was the next best thing.

A couple of maps that illustrates 50, 100 and 150 mile radius from PN. Click to enlarge the size. The only 5A-II school to the North is probably Nacogdoches. (trimmed from maps).

These schools make the most sense distance wise. HISD schools not listed because they most likely remain together.

Would really be a bummer to be tossed into the same district as the HISD schools. Terrible football programs.

It won't be no HISD schools. They all opted up to 5A-1. So more than likely we will be with the Fort Bends or LCISDs. Other than that we we will be tossed in with Montgomerys, Brenham, Huntsville, Bryan Rudder possibly Nacogdoches too if they don't have a decent place to put them

Being in a far corner of the state has some disadvantages. Too bad that Beaumont and Port Arthur chose to combine all their high schools. There would probably be a couple of 5A-D2 schools from PA and a few in Beaumont if they hadn't. And more kids would have been able to play sports.

LCISD? Not familiar with this district. League City ? That’s Clear Creek which are all 6A

According to the list of 5a2 schools. I think Nacogdoches will be put with us, Montgomery schools, Brenham, Bryan Rudder along with Nederland and Dayton. That Pasadena and Spring school would be a decent fit as bidistrict with Fort bends. Those 2 LCISD schools , texas city, Santa fe, galena park

February 3 I think will put end to the debate of how much traveling will be done next 2 years. Truly think in about 6 years we will finally be back in a local district since I see us as a 4a1 school

Really would be the best thing as it’s a 4A dominated area now.

PN-G is more likely to grow to 5ADI over the next decade than drop to 4ADI. We’ve grown back to our late ‘90s enrollment numbers over the last decade, and there’s no sign of that growth slowing or reversing any time soon.

Nederland’s enrollment has shown more modest growth over that time period.
