    Vidor sign

Yes, a paper sign, rolled it up and re-used it. We had some girls in the band who could paint like the cheerleaders.

    Vidor sign

The band held up that sign, not the cheerleaders. It was fun. We used it several times. We would unroll it when the other band played Cherokee. And we would all clap and sing along with the other band taking a turn playing our fight song.

    Vidor sign

My favorite sign of all time was this. Back when I was in the Band, early to mid 80's, almost everyone we played, their band played “Cherokee” trying to make fun of us. We in the band made and held up a sign that said, "Who wants to play your fight song?" It was great. Imitation is the...

    Calling all old regulars...

I read often....don't post much because I don't want to debate foolishness. The Inidans will always be dear to me, and I bleed purple. I know, and accept that we will win some, and loose some...Hopefully we seldom loose, but when we come up short, I don't want to hear about how our players or...

    2011 Region X Marching Contest

I agree with not arguing about Cherokee being heard in the stands. I sit in Section C above the level and across the 50 from the band. I can hear it, but not well. The stadium acoustics are what they are from my seat. I wish the band well at area....it is tough to make it to State against the...

    2011 Region X Marching Contest

Bama Kid, I respect you. My son played trumpet with you. I was at the practice competition two weeks before marching contest. I heard the judge mention the dynamics to the band. It is an issue. The contest show was good enough for straight I's, but it could be better. When I made I's on my...

    2011 Region X Marching Contest

I thought the band performed well. The marching was excellent. However, the sound, while good, is not loud enough. I was at the competition, and the three bands that followed PNG were smaller, but much louder. PNG has a big band, but lacks the "Big Band Sound". I have said this for the past...

Online Videos: Past Indian Bands at Marching Contest: 1977-1989

The 1988 band was at State Marching Contest, and the field was miked. That is why they sound so much louder. However, you are correct, the band in the late 70's through the 90's was much louder. We were bigger then, and we were taught to play with greater dynamics.

Online Videos: Past Indian Bands at Marching Contest: 1977-1989

At this moment I am uploading to YouTube the 1984 Marching contest video I have converted from VHS to DVD. The image quality is not great, the sound is good, but there is no Nuclear Detonation in the middle of it. I am also uploading to YouTube the 1985 Marching contest video. PNG Indian Fan...

PNG vs Manvel Predictions (Merged with Manvel Info)

Re: Manvel Maverick Info... I was row 5 on the 50 last night. Easley was on the sidelines with his defensive team, leading them in ways I see Brooking on the Cowboys....he was instrumental in keeping our defense focused on the task at hand. Each game we play now, will be gut check...Easley...

    PN-G vs Willis Predictions

I saw that one, and some others on YouTube. The Willis Defense seems very soft to me. # 60 is the only Big player they seem to have. Their offense moves the ball well on the ground at times, we MUST make first contact stops. After watching "hi lights" from several games this year of Willis, I...

    PN-G vs Willis Predictions

Don't know enough about our opponent to guess, so I will predict a one or more point(s) win by the Inidans!!!

    Injuries?

I know that all these young men are proud to be there. In my opinion, having ALL of them in the locker room "could" be a problem. Why upset the season long locker room atmosphere to add in extra players that WILL NOT PLAY?? Extra bodies makes for extra noise, and less room for the PLAYERS that...

    Sound System Upgrade?

Speakers on the Field House would be nice. The band is NOT mic ed up, the Band DOES NOT play over the speakers. To hear the band play Cherokee louder, they will have to play louder and STOP swinging their horns. Feedback, or source audio volume is the problem with the Videos they play. I...

Playoff tickets go on sale Tuesday Morning !

Well, if you don't have season tickets, just walk up on the BH side Friday night. The sad part is BH will reap the benefit, but OUR fans can still see the game. I wish WO-S had the Butch, and we had Humphrey. But we got what we got. Go Indians!!!

    A CAKE WALK!

Good point purple, Each game from now on will require 110% effort and execution. Any less, and we could be beat. BH may not look good on paper, but for 48 min anything can happen. Our Indians must remain focused and execute each play like it may be their last. Do that, and we should be...

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
