The band held up that sign, not the cheerleaders. It was fun. We used it several times. We would unroll it when the other band played Cherokee. And we would all clap and sing along with the other band taking a turn playing our fight song. -

I agree with not arguing about Cherokee being heard in the stands. I sit in Section C above the level and across the 50 from the band. I can hear it, but not well. 2011 Region X Marching Contest
I thought the band performed well. The marching was excellent. However, the sound, while good, is not loud enough. I was at the competition, and the three bands that followed PNG were smaller, but much louder. PNG has a big band, but lacks the "Big Band Sound". I have said this for the past...- phetonb

The 1988 band was at State Marching Contest, and the field was miked. That is why they sound so much louder. However, you are correct, the band in the late 70's through the 90's was much louder. We were bigger then, and we were taught to play with greater dynamics.- phetonb

Injuries?
I know that all these young men are proud to be there. In my opinion, having ALL of them in the locker room "could" be a problem. Why upset the season long locker room atmosphere to add in extra players that WILL NOT PLAY?? Extra bodies makes for extra noise, and less room for the PLAYERS that... -

Sound System Upgrade?
Speakers on the Field House would be nice. The band is NOT mic ed up, the Band DOES NOT play over the speakers. To hear the band play Cherokee louder, they will have to play louder and STOP swinging their horns. Feedback, or source audio volume is the problem with the Videos they play. I...- phetonb

Playoff tickets go on sale Tuesday Morning !
Well, if you don't have season tickets, just walk up on the BH side Friday night. The sad part is BH will reap the benefit, but OUR fans can still see the game. I wish WO-S had the Butch, and we had Humphrey. But we got what we got. Go Indians!!! -
